If there is a release clause then I doubt this would be something the club insist on doing. Surely these clauses exist because the player/agent want to ensure that if a desirable club want to sign him then providing they meet the figure CPFC can't stand in his way.

Darren Ambrose just confirmed it on Talksport. Said he's insider (probably Parish or Paddy) at Palace has told him.

Glad that’s cleared up . It was reported last year, but this story was full of holes anyway. Chelsea could not have offered a player terms, unless Palace had accepted an offer. In other stories Chelsea had talked to the player, can’t do. Of course Chelsea are interested, who isn’t? Man City now Arsenal, maybe something might come of this but more likely right now it’s an unsettling tactic.

My point was that if he still had a release clause Palace would’ve had to have accepted the £35m and I doubt wages would’ve been a problem so he’d probably be there’s by now if interested.

But yes where your born is it for me ,all this I'll play for my grandmothers country and you end up with mix of players that completely misses the whole point of international football .
