Our genetic heritage is a completely made-up concept everywhere except in Cornwall where it is to be cherished. It's not genetic. It's cultural, and culture can be shared, absorbed adopted, admired, and treasured.

You try telling someone from Scotland, Wales, N Ireland or Cornwall to respect the culture in say Liverpool and I think you would be asked, what culture and that they like having wheels on their car. There is no British culture. We have a variety of cultures. Some quite new, but all are interesting and valuable. What happened to a recognisable cultural existing "for sure"?

No,thanks. During my last visit to Cornwall I found the locals to be intolerant and racist. Absolutely. They even have a derogatory term for anyone from outside whom they don't class as Cornish. Obviously Wisbech will be ok with his hand shanty festival or whatever it's called.

Only for the boorish who behave badly. They can be very intolerant of them. Show a little respect and they are lovely. Tourists who drive too fast on the lanes, park inconsiderately and demand they are served before others are referred to as Emmets. Those who behave are called Sir. It's a sea shanty festival. W*nkers not invited.
