Roy cant be offered anymore than a years contract. We need to plan more long term than that. If whoever comes in is a disaster and we are in trouble again next Feb/March bring Roy in again then. Rodgers must be the numero uno target. If he turns us down Stevie Gerrard give him a go. Stevie G, oh my god nooooo,

Look, we all know how this will pan out. Names will be linked all summer as Parish tries to make up his mind from those who might be interested in working within his boundaries. Then with two days before the season starts he'll appoint Roy for another season...

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Not Gerrard. I do not envisage either Messrs Gerrard or Lampard in the 'Home' technical area at Selhurst Park next season.

This is your second post telling us who you do not envisage as our manager next season but I note that you ignored the request to tell us whom you do envisage as getting the gig.

To be totally honest I have not seen any such request. There is of course a great deal of comment and speculation in the media outlets and on HOL about who will be taking up the 'Reins' but I do not have a 'Hotline' to that poster (Name escapes me) who relied on his trusted sources for exclusive information but has been conspicuous by his absence.

I think realistically we need to take Fonseca out of the equation, however exciting an appointment he might be. Personally I don't envisage Rodgers being interested either, as I think he'll want to be at a club challenging for trophies, even if it means going abroad (he's fluent in Spanish apparently). I have a feeling Parish may spend the next couple of weeks sounding out Potter and any other potential candidates and if there's no real interest he'll then announce Roy on another year. Being realistic, it's unlikely anyone is going to pinch Roy from under our noses however well he might have done in his second stint, so that takes the pressure off the board in choosing the next manager. Of course Roy may decide he has more pride than to be left waiting and may tell them where to stick it. By the end of this month a whole lot could change (Wilf possibly gone, new manager, etc) or nothing could, but it'll be an interesting few weeks.
