Unfortunately the weak minded, easily indoctrinated and downright thick are not incapable of getting jobs. It seems many go into teaching these days.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know someone who went into teaching in her late twenties. She chose English Literature which was a surprise because she'd never been a reader. After passing the relevant exams she admitted she had to see a film of the book she was teaching to be able to understand it.

I remember being told as a teenager considering my future and thinking about teaching that "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach". I decided I could, so I did. It's obviously not true of all, as there are some great, devoted, and inspiring teachers, but is of some. I am reminded of it quite frequently when I read these pages.

Simple solution: the other pupils should identify as rabid dogs and chase the 'cat' out of the school, where it will presumably climb a tree and await the Fire Brigade rescuing it. Generally, dogs hate cats so a fight in the playground between the two species would presumably be an acceptable outcome to the situation.
hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing. |

You can't get around it, and film is an important part of modern culture, but the motion pictures impair individual imagination.

If it's true then the teacher concerned is deluded and should be sacked. What is needed in this case is parent power. No one has the guts to stand up to stuff any more, and while that continues, it will continue.

After passing the relevant exams she admitted she had to see a film of the book she was teaching to be able to understand it. I spoke to a teacher aged about 30. She had a degree (a "first" ) and then the teacher training qualification (another year, I think). I can't remember the exact sentence, but during the conversation I said "(blah, blah, blah)...if you'll excuse perhaps a bad choice of adverb". She replied, "what's an adverb?" The younger Miss YT was with a group of university student friends when the national security alert test went off and most of their phones beeped. They had a brief discussion about it...what was it... hadn't you heard about it...etc. Miss YT said "a lot of people think it's a bit too Orwellian". Another in the group - in the final year of his degree and working towards being a teacher - replied "What does that mean?" "Orwellian...you know; 1984...Big Brother is watching you" He didn't have a scooby. He knew of the TV shows Big Brother and Room 101, but had never heard of the novel 1984 or George Orwell. The teachers need to be taught how to teach it, leaving at home their personal opinions, or lack of them.

Woke will love on for a good while yet. It will be wheeled out by the government and it's supporters for as long as they need to use it to deflect away from the real issues affecting the economy and society. This government needs to create people and cultures to blame lest we think some of the issues may be down to them and so we don't notice just how much they are fighting between themselves rather than doing anything.

how to deal with woke ? or any other annoyances ? be more needy than the needy. More of a victim than the victims. they will fail to see the irony and often stand there flummoxed.
At a work party, i explained that i could not eat the gluten in the cake FOR RELIGIOUS REASONS. The old biddy apologised and wished me a speedy recover. Edited by PalazioVecchio (19 Jun 2023 1.09pm)
