Dembele certainly looked a real talent but I’ve a feeling he’d be just a slightly older version of Edouard.

I think if Mateta stays it will only be a result of our failure to bounce him. I still like him, or certainly don’t hate him, but his departure and a ‘better than Edouard’ arrival seems a logical proposition if we’re to improve.

When I see Mateta play I always think Edouard must surely be better. Then when I see Edouard play I think Mateta must be better. Then, occasionally, I see them both out on the pitch together and realise they are as bad as each other.
