Ayew was the best player on the park today by a country mile. My guess when Wilf comes back he will go up front instead of OE and Ayew will stay on wing.

I'm not sure if Everton will be satisfied as it has dropped them into the bottom three. But Dyche has to respect the away point too. We are not in their position, let's give thanks for that.
Is absolutely the point- point for us realistically puts us safe - whereas Everton desperately needed all 3 points today given their remaining fixtures..!! Think we are now very close to “flip flops” on and closing the relegation thread - sorry Willo..!! COYP

the 1 point is very acceptable today (that 4th straight win wouldve been great.)

I think Doucoure was in danger of an automatic ban today if he had got another yellow today. Does anyone know if he is still at risk at Moulineux or what his new "milestone" is that he now has to avoid. I'm not entirely familiar with the underlying rules.

I expected a draw today, and realistically we could be safe already. I think playing Wilf instead of Edouard up front will be interesting for the final games.

Dacoure can pick up as many yellow cards as he likes now (as long as its not two in a game) for the rest of this season andhe wont get banned

I used to have time for Everton, being the underdog to a big team in the same city I can relate to that. But since that pitch invasion and with their non-stop delusional whingeing fans I now can’t stand them. They have ended up with the manager they deserve. We saw Dyche’s boring anti-football today, failing to use any of the talented players they have - what a relief we didn’t end up with him last season.

I respect the point but how we achieved it was extremely disappointing. We were pretty flat and created nothing of any note. Everton were poor and we should’ve beaten them comfortably. Ayew was superb but should’ve topped his performance off with a goal. A header from a set piece in the first half and his shot in the second half that went into the executive boxes in the Whitehorse, should’ve both given us the lead. Eze was anonymous today and playing in his so called ‘best’ role he barely touched the ball in the first half! Mitchell was very poor both defensively and going forward, tried gifting Everton a goal on numerous occasions and his passing and delivery into the box was just woeful. We had no cutting edge up front but thankfully our two centre backs and the another very solid performance from Sam Johnstone meant we were worthy of the clean sheet. Finally, the biggest mention must go to referee John Brooks, who I thought was absolutely awful! Judging by his appalling decisions he has clearly never played the game and has absolutely zero understanding of it. So many bizarre decisions regarding tackles, contact and drop balls, he totally ruined the enjoyment of watching the game. All in all a very frustrating afternoon! Edited by Phil’s Barber (22 Apr 2023 10.41pm) He was abysmal. Had no control of game whatsoever. Seemed to reward all their theatrics, didn't give us key and clear decisions then I am guessing atoned by sending off Holgate with 10 to go after a perfectly legitimate challenge. Alongside playing a Sean Dyche team absolutely ruined the competition and therefore spectacle. Also, very noticeably for me, and for further balance, there was one point where he awarded a Free Kick and made no movement to suggest it was on his mind at all but Marc bo!!ocked him a bit and he reached for his cards producing a yellow for one of their players. You could see this was a reactionary move. Absolutely gutless.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Yes, how he was conned time and time again by the theatrics of the Everton players is beyond me, especially as he repeatedly missed blatant fouls on our players. Originally posted by Nicholas91

It was a really flat game. The sort of game that we could still be playing in the morning and it would still be 0-0.. We definitely need a new right back and left back. Both Mitchell and Ward are so poor and predictable going forward. I genuinely struggle to believe that Mitchell played for England only last season.
