I can remember people saying, Eze dosent work hard enough, he dosent tackle back, he isn't like Gallagher, absolutely idiotic, Vieira being chief Buffoon. Give it 18 months and everyone will say, what a player, we always knew he would be.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

I think it's far too soon to be saying that JRS won't be a PL player. Players develop at different ages. Vardy is the classic example of a late developer. Rak-Sakyi (can someone change the title of the thread to at least spell his name correctly) will have a great chance to show what he can do if loaned out to Leicester or even Ipswich. Regular football with one of those two clubs in the Championship will tell us a lot about his future prospects. He's a hard worker and wants to learn. I think he might well make the grade. I know Chelsea let him go but then they and Citeh both let Olise go and they'll both be regretting it now.

I feel he should be brought into our squad immediately, he has something about him that's quite special.

Yes I agree, a season in the championship will be good for Jesurun RAK-Sakyi (hope I have spelt his name correctly?). This next season will define to what level he can aspire. I don't think age is important at this stage of his development and as you say our own Ian Wright and Jamie Vardy are good examples of what level talent at any age can be achieved with the right opportunities. His future is in his hands and he will have to work really hard to get to the top level but we all wish him the best of luck!

It is a nice thought but we must be realistic, he is not going to develop to the level required without regular game time. Clearly our coaching team feel he is not there yet and therefore its logical for him to go out on loan in the championship so he can get regular game time and improve his skill set and match awareness. Lets not rush him before he is ready as that could have the opposite effect.

My Charlton mates reckon his got the talent but lacks the game management I think that is why the club feel a season in the Championship makes sense. How much game time would he could with palace this season? Edited by Badger11 (07 Aug 2023 11.26am)

There was the chance Ayew would play left and JRS would get his chance on the right in Olise's absence. The fact Roy has reduced his role to a cameo off the bench is very telling. If he stays around it is only through the lack of squad depth. He's still young and just because he isn't as good as Olise doesn't mean he can't still be a very good player for us down the line. I mean most of our squad aren't as good as Olise. Ayew was MotM against Lyon and Schlupp scored a great header, so there was little to change Roy's mind, I would imagine.

Edited by Badger11 (07 Aug 2023 11.26am) I think a season in the Championship is correct, he will thrive and be ready to rip the premier league apart next season.

It seems JRS is in demand (except from his parent club) . . . [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
