Well back to earth 1-1. They will score first and we will equalise deep into the second half just as the moans become audible around the ground.

Parish bringing his bird then

Willo,

you and I are of the same vintage! As young as you feel - but Palace have aged me badly this year, so I hope to regenerate from here on in. My Dad took me to my first game when I was eight to see us play Accrington Stanley at the Homesdale mud bank and we won 9-2, I think - can't imagine us scoring 9 on Saturday, but even 2 or 3 would be nice. These days I have to watch on the telly from Canada, but me and the better half are coming over for the WHU game on the 29th - could be pivotal!

Hopefully I will reach the ripe age of 71 this year and tension that is high-volt crackly is not beneficial at my stage in life.

Roy seems different this time, less respecting the point, but going to go get all 3... I hope that's the case.

To be fair, it must get a bit boring playing safe, but I can see why it happens in a league where for many teams every point counts. There's more excitement in really going for it though, and having more of a threat rather than steady as you go does send a message to other teams.

In the reverse fixture Leicester played us off the park and it was poor finishing on their part that denied them the 3 points. They got in regularly down our right side and sure they will target this side. I can see Ayew been deployed on the right as he is better defensively than Olise.
It will be interesting to see how Roy approaches the game. There were times when we had Loftus-Cheek on loan we were quite attacking and played some good football as opposed to the later period when we were so defensive.
I think we will score due to Leicester defensive frailties but i can also see them scoring. If both Guaita and Anderson are fit i think we might edge it 2-1 - Lakonga and Doucoure were starting to look a decent combination in central midfield against Brighton and i don't think Leicester are strong in this area.

...maybe except for a certain James Maddison...

TBF the 'respecting the point' mentality of old may have reflected realistic ambitions for the squad at that time. Roy has a bit more 'talent' at his disposal now and may well recognise it's potential to get more from games than just keeping it tight and hoping to benefit from the odd attack sprung... via Wilf.

COYP and come on Roy, whilst I fear/feared this stint could seriously affect his legacy here I am coming more round to recognising there's always the possibility it could add to or enhance it, optimistic but you never know.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the team sheet!

What are the chances Jeff, Jordan and James T start?
