Erm …. I don’t know how to break this and I don’t want to worry anyone but I’ve just seen a source on twitter that is normally quite reliable and a good lad that Wayne Hennessy is on an emergency loan …. That really will put the cherry on cake if true

Still not sure why Vieira was sacked when so much was due to lack of recruitment.

That would mean that Parish would have to admit that he was at fault which is highly unlikely

Parish doesn't need more time to find a new manager all it does is put if off until the summer as 'there will be more options available then'. Cue the Parish summer holiday for three weeks before we get down to the month long search for a new manager.

We then have a month to get about 7 new players in. We won't. We will renew Clyne, Ayew, Tomkins and Ward and be starting next season piss poor prepared again.

The only valid reason to do this, is if there is a planned change of ownership in the summer.

Apologies, for the rant. But this knee jerk, short termism and doing it on the cheap is what holds us back.

I don't have a problem with this. Firstly it is just until the end of the season which gives Parish more time to find the right manager to take the club forward. Secondly if you look at the attacking players in our team, Eze, Zaha and Olise, they are all good at carrying the ball. That to me says we should be a counter attacking team and that is what Roy does. It may not be the most attractive football but it suits the players we have

Its ,well just ,,,

How its come to this was because Parish pulled the trigger without getting his replacement in line . Stories coming out say they were thinking of moving PV and his team on last year , plenty of time to sound out a new manager and a couple of decent coaches .

Just doesnt add up

Still two weeks to knock the team into shape and seperate the wheat from the chaff .
Roy can do it , COYP

Narcissists never admit they are wrong or say sorry. I know these things, trust me. Can spot Parish a mile away.

Totally right , I mean if and it is an if we stay up and Boro don’t get promoted I would make a serious effort to get Carrick in , but as you say , no one at this point is a better appointment than Roy

Carrick looks like a very promising young manager, but he's highly likely to gain promotion with Middlesbrough. Parish will have the summer to recruit the new players we need and the best manager out there for Palace. Hopefully we'll still be in the PL but of course if Hodgson fails it could be in the championship

Absolutely adds up. We have 10games to get 12 points. Roy knows the club the players know him and his methods. That gives a fighting chance of sorting out the mess asap. Also Roy has a pretty decent record eeking out narrow victories against the weaker teams. Secure safety and then regroup seems like a sensible plan.

I have always held Steve Parish in high regard for what he has done for this football club, but this Hodgson appointment is a huge slap in the face for hard working Palace supporters. What justification and thinking does this appointment prove. How can Parish come out with a statement stating that we all loved Patrick and what he has done for this football club and the hard work he has put in the exciting football he bought to this club then make this appointment completely two faced IMO complete lack of ambition a lack of forward thinking and complete panic appointment it’s an insult.
So this appointment is until end of season, what are the expectations on that !. I except Parish to come out with it was the only appointment Roy Hodgson will give us hope of staying in this league. Hoping by end of season and waiting for a manager like Moyes to be sacked by WHU. dreamland imo.
As I stated before we have had a horrendous run of games all basically top clubs losing by the odd goal. I’m sorry but this was a panic sacking and now a panic appointment. We are now going to watch and produce negative outdated football with Hodgson’s firm favourites like Milo back in the team. For the first time in my 50plus years as a Palace supporter I am completely disillusioned and embarrassed by this club.

Absolutely ridiculous decisions being made. Have real fears now for the rest of the season. Truly awful appointment.
