Wilf/his agent has refused to discuss a new contract so the £200k figure is either paper talk or just his agent trying to put out a marker for other clubs.
As Palace are trying to bring wages under control the most we 'could' offer would be parity against his current deal.
It's all irrelevant really as he's made it quite clear that he wants to go/have a different challenge.

Let's hope so.
He's not the player he used to be, and whether the club offers him another year's contract (keeping in line with the stated policy) inclusive of a some reduction in salary, remains to be seen. Furthermore he appears increasingly injury prone, and still inclined to the outbursts and general whining that have let him down in the past.
Times change, and what a pleasure it was to see the players playing with smiles on their faces against Leeds.

Personally I’d try to get him into Arsenal and do a decent deal for Reiss Nelson or alternatively do the same with Chelsea’s Hudson Odoi. They are the second string wingers in top clubs that Wilf would be replacing.

I feel a bit for Wilf getting injured in his last season with us but the last few years I’ve seen him pick up more and more injuries. It’s definitely time for him to go for everyone’s benefit.

Apart from whichever team he ends up at, where he may increasingly be on the treatment table.

Not if he goes to Saudi he wont , he can just stand about on the pitch and pretend to be a footballer

£200k a week must be a fantasy figure ... it equals the £9m+ number supposedly on offer in the Middle East. Arsenal may pick Wilf up on a free transfer but I can't imagine him being offered more than he's on at the moment.

Unfortunately as he is a free agent, we will not be able to do any deal

If Wilf really has been offered £12m a year tax free to go to Saudi, he would be crazy not to go even if its only a two year contract.
The weather and slower pace will help his injury issues and he will come back a rich man.

Wilf gets home sick when he leaves Croydon. I doubt he will go anywhere outside of london

The only reason I say it is because both of the players I mentioned are likely to be displaced by Wilf as second choice if he goes there.

Quite frankly, if Wilf wrangles a deal anywhere near £200k a week and/or at a Champions League club, it will be the business move of the century.

Unless he comes back for the last 5 games and scores 10+ goals I can’t see a team willing to offer that amount for a player who’s main asset has always been beating opponents, using his pace and creating attacking opportunities but can no longer or very rarely does this anywhere close to the extent he used to.

He is, for me being relatively young, the greatest palace player of my lifetime therefore possibly ever, there’s no room for any further discussion or explanation in my mind. Had he left 2+ years ago I’d of been very gutted, we’d probably have been relegated however I’d of understood. For me that opportunity has passed now and his best days are long behind him.

I strongly suspect, if he does move, it won’t be a fairytale ending, far from in fact. If he does stay he’ll have to settle for what is offered but quite frankly I think we may be better off moving on, sad as it is to say. I hope whatever happens Wilf attains a favourable result for himself and of course it doesn’t affect the team. I fear him staying could be more detrimental however.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

If he isn't a rich man at this moment in time, he's a very foolish man.
