Edited by PalazioVecchio (26 Dec 2022 2.31pm) Funnily enough, no I have no particular opinion on French Churches. Similarly I have no opinion on whether or not Stirling (note the spelling by the way) is a man of religion and if so which one.

For those of us who have witnessed relatives or friends traumatised by their need to make a decision over abortion it hardly matters whether you are male or female. If you care, you care. Caring matters to me. Seeing people intimated makes me angry. Men being anti-abortion, when they will never have to experience giving birth, upsets me much more than a man defending a woman’s right to choose. This is a very good post I am sure Becky did not mean that women are not going through trauma when preparing for an abortion, albeit that could be read into her post. Yes, it is an awful decision and one that affects those that take it, one way or the other, for the rest of their lives. Playing the super guilt-trip card is an abomination. Women need to be able to decide with supportive help and not bullying from those that have a strong agenda.

The nonsense of the regulation is clear and obvious despite all your squid-ink. I have more grounds for it than any suggestion that it would not happen! The police generally don’t arrest people for public order offences unless they have no alternative. This is no different. Any such regulation is far from ridiculous. What is ridiculous is you thinking it is. Protecting the vulnerable from intimidation is never ridiculous. Thinking that those seeking help in an abortion clinic aren’t vulnerable to intimidation is ridiculous.

So there was no mention of women needing to be educated on what they should and shouldn't feel concerned about. Without checking that, and the context, I have no idea. It has nothing to do with this issue though, where the concerns are obvious, as is the intimidation.

Really poor and misleading Thread / Title. Arrested whilst silent praying NOT for silent praying. She was arrested for breaking a public space protection order…and is a repeat offender. So many ill conceived comments here - Facts matter!

She might believe that. You might agree with her. Neither matters. The law says she can pray about the issue but not where she decided to do it. The law has decided to protect the rights of others from being intimidated. That she and you don't believe that such behaviour is intimidating is irrelevant. It is how such behaviour is perceived which is. Her rights are not being in any way repressed. The rights of others are being protected. Shame the same protection is not being afforded to those who are trying to protect Womens rights
