It's been a very solemn day with all the ritual of the Queen's funeral carried out in stunning, meticulous precision and beauty. Even the weather played the game and it made me proud to be English and to have shown that we are world beaters at all things ceremonial. King Charles III, in his younger days, was quite openly a huge fan of the insanely bonkers Goon Show. Those of you old enough to remember it will understand why his fondness of the radio programme seemed to be so out of character for a future king of England. It is for the reason, underneath all the pomp, that Charles clearly has a zany sense of humour which will hold him in good stead to reign as a well respected king. Certainly makes him good enough for me anyway. Long Live The King!
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Does that mean they will waive down a double decker? King Juan Carlos "One for Westminster Abbey please" Driver: Got your Freedom pass mate, Or an Oyster card? King Juan Carlos "Eh" You may joke, but, we DO have an equivalent card called 'Mobilis Bono Multiviaje' issued by TAM. Gives me rides on trams & buses for about 87c which is about 70p per trip no matter how far in zone you go (& lasts an hour for same price). This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

There maybe some who want a republic and others who still want the status quo. In a day of national mourning, pageantry and pomp, nobody posted a reply from 09:38 to 17:35. What were these republicans doing ?

I’ve caught most of it today and found it quite moving at the start. As it went on though it got more of a celebration of her life. The young pall bearers did a great job so hope they get some recognition. A couple shed a few tears I saw. Edited by cryrst (19 Sep 2022 7.29pm)

Nice to see Harry not being a**ed to sing the National Anthem at Westminster and Windsor. Is he a secret Liverpool fan?

I'm no federalist and can see the advantages of a constitutional monarchy which is *supposed* to be our political system. Unfortunately our former Queen who is supposed to protect this nation and its people signed the Lisbon treaty (and others like Tony Blairs "reforms" and whether knowingly or not transferring power to foreign interests which can only be considered a treasonable act. Charles III will never be my king because (ignoring the close links with Jimmy Saville) he clearly has a globalist agenda and backs those pushing for a one world government with this kind of s***: He is basically sitting on a golden throne telling us that we all need to be cold and hungry. I predict a constitutional crisis under Charles reign and huge civil unrest due to the policies he supports.
