At the moment I think Mateta is a better striker than Edouard. Overall, though, bringing him in fresh in the final 30-40 minutes, may increase our chances of scoring goals rather than playing him from the start.

I'm surprised by how many posters think the manager's choice of starters is based on "Who are my best 11 players?" rather than "What tactics give my team the best chance to win this game?" or, beyond that, "to win the most games this season."

Well no reason for what he is doing we have other players Hughes has done nothing wrong and whenever played looked good plus does track trying to defend Schlupp is useless in this role.

It does make you question the manager at times he is seeing people not the roles (schlupp is a good player but this is not what he is skilled at driving forward is his game)

We should be beating this Villa team

Wilf will play up top being same old lazy self and Ed will do all the running but I expect Wilf will get the glory so people will go on about how great he is as was the case from Liverpool game in which he was poor.

Dacoure brilliant in midfield

Never seen a penalty given where no one appeared to appeal

Offside goal must have been marginal, thought this was not a thing now

We really need to take the chances we create

Villa are absolutely s*** considering money spent

After Gerard’s comments about Liverpool game, amusing to see their s*** house tactics

Gerrard will be gone by the WC

Great win but I am disappointed with VAR, I had read that these fine marginal decisions would be relaxed.

I didn't feel that either of the decisions were accurate.

In the event they cancelled each other out, but that is just coincidence.

I don't like the thought of games being decided by such fine, and probably inaccurate, margins.
