A disgrace. Oh so it all about some wallys who have paid a fortune to watch some friendlies, and nothing about what PV wants, he obviously doesn't want his key players travelling, and maybe wants to see how the fringe players do before deciding who stays and who goes out on loan

The team NOT travelling is far more likely to get COVID. Just look at the current infection rates in England compared to Singapore and Australia. So the sensible action from a COVID perspective is to send our best players on tour. Agree- Liverpool has taken a squad of almost 40 players, so clearly deem the covid risk low. Furthermore, the UK friendlies have only been arranged in the last week or so when it was clear over half of the squad wouldn't be travelling. They haven't not flown to ensure we fulfil friendlies, it is the other way around.

Regardless of the reasons, of the disjointedness It was a great opportunity to gain some new fans, and how of our best talent, and have a great pre-season together. Instead we have our best attacking talent in London playing hastily arranged friendlies, and most of our defensive talent the other side of the world. If I was PV I'd be furious.

Any long term Palace fan had a sneaky feeling this would be a farce. We never get anything right - our motto.

I'm travelling over from NZ and I'm bitterly disappointed with the squad. Feels like a waste of money now. I can only imagine the feeling for those that have travelled from the UK. What a let down. surely anyone going from the UK, is more enticed by the holiday, rather than Palace. Otherwise you'd just wait for a pre-season friendly at home which will be 5% of the cost of this tour.

How do you know it wasn't his choice I of course don't. But I cant imagine any manager would want to run a pre-season tour without your Best CB And outside team performance and cohesion, this is a big PR exercise, and an opportunity to show the east that we are an exciting team. Its a lot harder to do that without Olise, Eze and Wilf. AS much as I love his industry, I cant imagine a load of kids in Singapore desperate to get an Ayew shirt!

I don’t disagree with some of the logic on disruption of the team but Palace signed up for this. It is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity for fans down here. These aren’t just preseason friendlies they are exhibition matches and teams are expected to put on a decent show. The MCG match will likely be the largest crowd to ever watch Palace.[/quote] Likely to be more than 88,619? Edited by YT (14 Jul 2022 10.13pm)

A disgrace. I think it is the lack of Benteke that's upset you

Have to say I think the squad/team is based far more on footballing reasons than commercial or otherwise. For that reason and the reasoning of 'in Vieira I trust' I am content. I think if you expected to see a full strength Palace side battling against Liverpool, X amount of miles away, in mid-summer, that sounds somewhat naive. Edited by Nicholas91 (15 Jul 2022 2.57pm)
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
