One word - woeful! I get the fact he is experimenting with different players - but watching the ball being passed sideways and backwards for the majority of the game is demoralising for everyone. Agreed, it's good to mix things up, but not to the detriment of result after result else team morale will suffer. Not over yet of course, will try to keep my glass half full even though we're behind and haven't scored in 6 hours

Could well be the end for him. Absolutely awful.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

From bad to worse.. I think he'll definitely hang on until after the World Cup .. but if this is anything like the standard we're playing at, he'll not be around much longer. Tough season for all though, and he'll be more consistent in his choices, so who knows. I don't want to get too down hearted prior to the World Cup

Potentially the Palace bias here, but Marc Guehi for me is the only one to have come out of this with increased credit. He's looked tidy in possession, has generally looked to play forward and hasn't made any errors of note. Not having left back cover in the squad is unfathomable. Quite happy for Tyrick that he won't be associated with this and gets a decent rest but England surely would have looked more balanced with him in the squad. All Southgate has done is confirmed that he can't pick this squad again. Given Maguire and Stones' performances over the past week..... is Marc Guehi currently England's most competent centre back?
