I was neutral but Liverpool were the better team in the match. Courtois was excellent in Real's goal. They did more time wasting than when we had Roy. The officials were terrible. A bit like watching the average Palace game. Not much quality play.

Unlucky Liverpool. They def payed better on the day, but sometimes it just doesn't happen. A downer for the fans sho couldn't get in. Lot's of money to be made from ripping off fans when they're so desperate to get in.

There's a great deal of bile and unnecessary hatred being lobbed at Liverpool FC and their supporters on here.

I, for one, was sorry an English team lost to a Spanish team who seem to have a hold on this European trophy.

I sense that you are in a minority.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

It looks to me as though several groups are to blame:

UEFA obviously
Over zealous French police
Any authorities in charge
Liverpool’s reputation for this & all their scallies
People selling fake tickets
People knowing they bought fake tickets forcing entry
People with no tickets, including the local North African youths below
Knoll encouraging ticketless fans to go. Idiot. Should be fined by the FA

Shame that innocent people suffer

Even UEFA are stating that the issue at the dippers turnstiles was caused by fans with fake tickets not getting in. Let me get this right.
People knowingly bought fake tickets expecting them to work. Let’s assume they did work. What are the fans with real tickets meant to do when they get in.
It’s lucky that these fans have lots of respect for each other! If the above scenario had happened it could have been another hillsborough ffs.

Welcome to Paris today. Security letting their own french Africans in but not scousers. France should be banned from hosting any football for years

Fake tickets could get you past the first checkpoint. After that there’s a chance you could get in somehow. People end up watching on the stairs or standing side on in some rows. It would take a lot of extra people for a Hillsborough to happen on a terrace now, especially with no fences, but a pile up down a set of stairs could happen I suppose.

Watching SSN at the moment, to keep up with the play off final, but it's mainly a w******t about Liverpool's "victory" celebrations. It's funny how flares are normally condemned by the media, but today when Liverpool fans have been letting them off SSN presenters are saying how much it's adding to "the atmosphere"!

I sense you may be right YT. Never been one to follow the crowd.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

If they were mistreated then I do feel sorry for them.
However, the common denominator for these issues is a always a scouser
Everton last week. Liverpool fans booing the national anthem at Wembley.
The list of scousers and trouble is endless.

A friend of mine was telling me today that he went a 6 Nations rugby match between France and England in Paris a couple of years back and a similar thing happened then. The English fans were being held back and only grudgingly allowed access to the stadium in dribs and drabs. Meanwhile the French supporters were having no such problems.
