Always going to be tough tonight. Long way to come up here three days after Wembley. They are a tough well organised outfit now, we were poor first half a bit better second, but toothless up front. Need to be up for it against Leeds next Monday.

So frustrating to go from 9th place ahead of an FA Cup semi-final, to being knocked out, and now we're down to 14th. We could easily finish 16th this year, which would be an utter sh-t result to end the season.

We never show up in the first half of matches, it's like we have to wait to get yelled at at half-time. We pass back relentlessly, even under little pressure. McArthur did more work in 30 minutes than everyone else combined for 90.

We "controlled" the last 20 minutes today, but even then we couldn't get one shot on target. I have no idea what the problem is with the mentality of our players, but something needs to change next year. Bring in someone who puts in a shift.

2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Well what a 5hit show that was. Maybe the worst since Viera took over. Schlupp and Kouyate offered nothing and made us look like we didn't even have a midfield and I'll drive Edouard back to Scotland but he ain't sitting in the front, he can get in the back of the van with all the paint. Whats all this bollox with the midfielders coming all the way back to receive a 2 yard pass from the cbs too? it just leaves us with nothing in the middle and it really frustrates the living 5hit out of me. Whats happened to Hughes? He's never put a foot wrong and has looked class every time he's played.
I need answers.
Well done to everyone who travelled up to watch that.

Deserved a draw with an excellent second half, the ball just didn't fall for us but having said that Newcastle did defend very very well, nothing wrong with losing to a team that hustled us to death during the first half with a very well taken goal, our second half performance just highlights to me that we have a very promising future, do not understand all the crap being written on here tonight.

Spot on! Loosing 0:1 to Newcastle away is not the end of the world.

Well that's another 90 minutes of my life I can't get back.

Keeper.

Distribution is woeful.

Defence.

Back, side, side, back, hoof, back, side side back, hoof. rinse and repeat.

Midfield.

Slow, Slow, Slower than slow.

Forwards.

Stealing a living.

He was on the bench though.

Games like this evening makes me come round to the idea of 5 substitutions. Would have been great to bring on Hughes and Eze to further push to get back in the game. I guess we'll see it next season.

Sadly accurate.

Add in vieira making bizarre defensive subs too week in week out even when losing

Newcastle are allowed to defend and do it very well, but they were also allowed by the officials to take the piss by constantly stopping us with niggly fouls and much too much rolling around faking injury and the amount of non fouls awarded against us became an issue as the game came to an end. Zaha had our best attempt that could've very easily gone in with their keeper wrong footed.

Disagree. I don't think they defended well at all. They sat back and just let us do absolutely nothing upfront, it looked clueless.
Their keeper had 2 powder puff shots to save all game.
I wouldn't say they hustled us in the 1st half either, they totally outplayed us mainly due to a dire midfield pairing which to be fair hasn't done that badly up until this game but for whatever reason looked non existent tonight.
Im not saying it's our God given right to win these games and a draw would have been a good result and a win would have been great but it was absolutely 5hit.
