Does anyone remember Kennedys Sausages? Every Friday I had to go and get sausages from Kennedy's for our Tea. Unfortunately they are now are all closed. But we have found an alternative. They are from Ken 'N' Eddys (See what they did there) Beckenham High Street.

Expensive but very good.

used to use the south norwood branch regular.
by coincidence, I worked with one of the family on a school painting contract (after Kennedys had closed up)

For some reason, the second roast (on the Sunday) using leftovers, tasted better than the one on Saturday. Just more flavoursome, and a tad more melty-in-the mouth.
Just a few scraps left for the dogs, and nothing left for the cottage pie that was envisaged for the Monday.

BIIIIG TUMMY.

funny how the 're-heat' often tastes better, particulary shep.pie,
lasagne,etc.

If I'm cooking either of those, I always try to cook the meat (and whatever is in it) the day before and let it stand overnight before re-heating and finishing off for the oven.

Massive increase in the flavour of everything.

I spotted some beef short ribs at the butcher which I've never had before so it will be pot roasted beef short ribs this Sunday with root veg also included in the slow cooker

Saturday. Or Sunday Roast Planning Day.

After last weekends excesses, we might go easy this weekend.
Got non-league football to see at lunchtime, so might scrape the barrel and go for a half-time dogburger. No shopping planned, so i don't see a roast happening tomorrow. I think roasts are being with-held until some chores around the house are done.
Still got the bathroom cabinet to put up this weekend,...ish.

Definitely best with the turkey cooked on Christmas Eve. One less thing to fret about on the day and more time for a pre-lunch livener.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Just saw a recipe yesterday. Beef short ribs in Guinness - looked nice.

News,...hot off the press.

Bathroom cabinet put up by midday. Pork joint, 1.2kg, subsequently put in Ninja oven, at 180 degrees for 1 hour.
No crackling. Side orders of mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli, gravy and apple sauce.
Should all be ready to eat for 3pm

There won't be much leftovers, except something for the dogs and my sandwiches tomorrow.

then after lunch a watch of the F1 GP highlight,...then sleep.
