There’s no guarantee that Eze would have featured much more even if we didn’t have Gallagher. He only returned to training at the back end of last year.
Vieira has continually preached patience and indicated that it will take time for Eze to find form and fitness.
I suppose he’ll get another start v Stoke and hopefully he will show what he is capable of.
He’s a different type of player to Gallagher relying more on touch and skill than high energy and he certainly doesn’t have Gallagher’s tackling ability.
To play and flourish in a midfield 3 I think he really needs two holding players behind him to free him of some defensive responsibility.
Vieira has shown no sign of playing two holding midfield players, so it may require a tactical tweak to accommodate him.
Vieira has said he sees him as part of a front 3 on the left (where does that leave Wilf?) or as a number 10.
Personally I can’t see him as part of a front 3, but would like to see him given a go in a free role behind the striker.

Yes, free role, in front of Hughes/McArthur/Kouyate. Wilf and Olise Wide, and Metata at the moment CF, Gallagher will be gone soon, priority is a new RB, and getting rid of the bench Dross

Chance to impress in training this week and force himself into the starting 11 as Gallagher will obviously not be available this weekend.

WE, know that, but, you will still get people asking 'where is he?'

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I will not be amused when Newcastle step in and bid £100m for Gallagher. They could bid double that and not notice it.
Newcastle are heading for top 5 next season on the back of Saudi riches yet all we are talking about is an abused cat.
About time some of the sensitive types pick up on this.

Are you pissed off specifically with Gallagher or with all players we take on loan?

Either way you are talking nonsense.

Gallagher has been one of the players of the season in the league let alone for us. Without him we would be a lot closer to the bottom 3.

And we have had some great loanees over the years. RLC, sakho, Zaha, Phillips, Cole, Sinclair, forsell etc. Some made incredible contributions to where we are as a club. Even the biggest clubs in the world make use of the loan system.

When Gallagher played his early matches for us we were all impressed. there has been talk about his choices of returning to Chelsea and perhaps rarely starting a match, taking a Chelsea loan or transfer to another club, or staying at CPFC. He obtained an England Cap as one of our players. Could it be that PV has pointed out to him that he has settled with us and needs to do some things regarding being in the Chelsea shop window.
Certainly, if his play to the end of this season is at a lower level Chelsea would have a problem - is he good enough, can we loan or sell him? - which CPFC (provided the price is reasonable) could solve by buying him. recently, Chelsea have been exporting players.

Given all of the fuss that surrounded the Saudi takeover I wouldn't be surprised if NUFC tried hard to stay within FFP guidelines, for sure there will be some creative accounting but I feel they would be better served trying to build their platform on a progressive basis rather than going into the transfer market all guns blazing & then everyone ( top 6 teams) will say , look I told you so.

Eze does not press well is the crux of why he's struggling to make an impact in this team, and why he's hugely inferior to Gallagher as the furthest forward midfielder... it's probably Gallagher's best attribute; knowing when to press and picking up second balls, and a huge part of our game. Eze is probably the worst of the midfield options at this, hence why they have struggled to accommodate him so far.

I'm not worried; I think he has more than enough talent to figure it out, but for now there's no logical case for him starting over Gallagher, particularly in a high-pressing side.

Have you considered not spamming the boards with silly threads? This isn't TalkSport; you haven't got to come up with nonsense contrarian views to try and get bites.
