Max Meyer was a similar case of a German wonder-kid whose style was European but not ours.

He was on the fringe but never really got going, like VDB at ManU.

Anyway let's see how it goes.

Possibly. But manure can be something of a graveyard for players.

As someone with a Northern background, I very frequently tune in to the United Stand (Youtube) a Man Utd fan discussion site.

The host is Mark Goldbridge and I really rate his views and opinion.

He is a massive fan of DVB and he is amazed why he has not been used more in the Man Utd side.

Every time DVB has got minutes on the park, he has been instrumental is improving the Man Utd performances and making their team 'tick'.

From what I have learned, DVB is a class act who needs regular Premier League level football in order to cement his place the the Netherlands national team.

This is a great incentive for PV to get the best out of him and add a class option to our squad.

Just my thoughts.

VDB cannot make any difference to VAR decisions or referees bias in favour of the top 6, so its basically a waste of money.

Being best at football does not translate into winning on the PL anymore so why bin your dough?

Another foreigner with potential? Same as Meyer and Riedewald (which I like and was hoping to see more on the pitch).
Would rather see us go for a prominent right-back.

Van der Beek is a good player but the PL is perhaps not his place.

He is not a goalscorer rather a good passer of the ball.

Probably not quite who we, or Manure, need.

We already have Jairo Riedewald and he is similar.

In fact he is probably better, but the grass is always greener for some of us.

I haven't seen much of DVB other than the highlights of the limited minutes he's played this season, but Man U paid 36m for him. I can't remember exactly how much we paid for Jairo, but I seem to think it was measured in hundreds of thousands.

Surely DVB must have displayed a little more potential than Jairo before coming to the Prem for there to be such a colossal difference in price?

If this comes off you will need to add Dougie and Patrick to your list of people who think that the grass is greener elsewhere

We don’t need another right back we already have Ward Clyne and Ferguson. How many do we need ?

I'm still shocked that Brighton are a better passing side than us.

Perhaps being on the nomination list for the Ballon D’Or upped his price!

How many times has played/started? How many goals has Jairo scored (who I like by the way)?

True ... but we can stop playing like lemons in the first half and get ourselves ahead by half time. Liverpool's first half performance won them the game!
