To be fair wippa, nobody said you wanted or needed any other mobs going with you, I was there with some work pals, one was from the island, and one of the mile end mob. Im only saying the site I was on was buzzing all day, most were Millwall as it was a big bermondsey firm we worked for, but nobody is saying west ham were there , just one bloke we worked with.

Fair enough. Have heard it mentioned before though, that there was other London mobs there in big numbers, and that clown from Luton claimed it during an interview once. I mean, at a time when all the London firms were going at it hammer and tongs most weekends, as if they’d all come together to take on Luton lol

Really?? I’m wondering how you managed that, I had quite a few scary incidents, and believe me, I was a wimp and always did my best to stay out of trouble

I must have missed it somehow? I can't remember? I went to and from the matches on my motorbike

Exactly the description...Willie Thorn...ha.

In my mind's eye he was wearing a green top and he didn't seem like a hooligan. Just lost his rag with them being in our wnd again and splatted some bloke's nose. Agree about how strange it was he had a brolly. (In my memory a golfing brolly but I may be wrong).

Yeah, I used to put it to Chelsea fellas saying they were there, as a firm, it was wall to wall wall! Funny enough, one of your mates was the bloke that got me going back in the day, met him on a building site, bloke from north Peckham, B? Used to drink in the rose at new cross.

Know a couple of B’s from Peckham lol. Ginger B was Peckham, or mixed race lad who used to go by the now politically incorrect nickname half caste B?

Charging their own season ticket holders £28 and all others £33 so will be similar for us I’m guessing. I thought it may be 20 quid as it’s the FA Cup.

are you blind? Serious question. There is always trouble, the only reason it is low key is because most Palace fans try to walk away rather than get involved. In c1985 under Coppell there was a 'pitch invasion' as Palace fans tried to get away from Millwall fans who had come into the home end. Even featured on crimewatch.

Wear colours at your peril

I was in the AW that game when it kicked off very early in 1st half. Wall in the AW terrace went steaming in to our singing section with it all spilling on to the pitch. Complete mayhem. Police segregated the AW terrace after that and Palace had a limp charge at them mid way through 2nd half ... only cos there was a police line. Post game was tense especially around Thornton Heath ... was glad to get out of there and jump the bus to Brixton. Some real psychos out that day ... loads of them in the AW seats staring down at us all through the game. They were intent on tearing the place up ...

A West Ham fan, Terry Burns, was stabbed to death at a pub in Embankment that evening by Wall fans who had been at the game ... which is why the game was on Crimewatch ...

The new Den isn't a patch on CBL in terms of intimidation and arguably one of the safest away grounds to visit if you get the train to South Bermondsey.

Ah yeah, we go back a long way me and B. Really nice fella. Ain’t aged one bit, still looks like he did 30 years ago the lucky sod. Still goes Millwall all the time. Got four grown up boys now, they all go with him too. Great lads all of them.
