If this is down to Boris then he should have a long think.
OP just needed to accept a suspension and move on.
Instead some heavy hitters whipped the MP's and have created an unholy shambles which they should be thoroughly ashamed of.
OP has now gone an anyway.
Joke.

MP Dame Andrea Leadsom insists she is "proud" to have led a controversial vote which helped a fellow Conservative MP avoid a 30-day suspension.

Kathryn Stone OBE was a Commissioner for the Independent Police Complaints Commission, with responsibility for seven police forces in the Midlands and the North including Greater Manchester police, which is the second largest force in the UK.

In 2016, Kathryn took up the role of Chief Legal Ombudsman of England and Wales. In this role she scrutinised complaints submitted to the Office for Legal Complaints and assessed how they were handled. She introduced a three-year plan to improve the process to make it easier for consumers to seek support about poor service from the legal industry and get the advice they needed.

It appears she knew her stuff

Yet Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng faced outrage on Thursday for suggesting Kathryn Stone should resign in the wake of her damning investigation into former minister Owen Paterson.

Tumbleweed.

Meanwhile, a female Labour MP gets a suspended sentence for threatening violence on another woman.

Can I hear outrage from the Left?

Naaaa!

She got booted out of her party and criminally prosecuted so I'm not sure what more you want?

Your obsession about turning this into an anti Labour thread speaks volumes about your politics.

Rose Paterson chose, apparently pre-meditated, to commit suicide on Mr Paterson’s birthday.

Mr Paterson has rejected the findings of Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards Kathryn Stone, labelling the process biased and saying it contributed to the death of his wife.

"I lost my beloved wife of 40 years and this process was a major contributory factor," the former cabinet minister said.

This was raised in yesterday’s debate on his parliamentary future and appears to have influenced the outcome.

Earlier this year he claimed (in the Daily Mail) it was linked to her catching Covid. There was no mention of the investigation at that time.

Mrs Paterson was Chair of Aintree Racecourse where the Grand National is run. The Grand National is sponsored by Randox Health, for whom Mr Paterson is a paid lobbyist.

Can’t really summarise it better than that. Decent of a Tory voter to acknowledge it rather than the other pathetic whataboutery on here from the others

One wrong’un MP who’s getting dealt with versus a party in power trying to systematically make corruption OK?

Check your priorities.

Yes. I often vote Tory.

Well spotted.

What more do I want? For people with such low moral standards and a lack of judgement, never to be elected into Parliament.

The usual straw man nonsense.

You were so eager to post on this subject that I thought I'd remind you of the scum that your beloved party has, or should I say had, in its ranks.

They’ve been in there for 11 years.

Are you genuinely trying to say i’m making a straw man argument on a thread i started about Tory sleaze, that they’ve since made a huge U-turn on, the MP has resigned and you made it about Labour?

Not the smartest bloke are you?

As you know, Owen Paterson is Right Honourable. The Government placed a 3 line whip on the party to protect him. He isn’t just any old MP. He is a personal friend of BoJo and a part of the rotten establishment.

Webbe was a new MP and was suspended by the Labour Party when the issue first broke. She has now been expelled

So you have usefully demonstrated the difference in approach. Thank you.
