These people were paid well for their choices. While I agree that we should get them out it should be to Islamic regional countries with a paid arrangement with Turkey or elsewhere. Also....Who is going to take responsibility when one of these incomers kills or rapes? No, it won't just be the responsibility of background checkers because the logic of how on earth they can be certain is little more than a joke. This is irrational policy based upon empathy.....which leads to the blood of innocents. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Sep 2021 5.28pm) I respect your view and yes it was a choice. The pay was very good but the job always came with danger. Without the interpreters the forces would have had a much harder job, what I foresee as the problem is, the extended family of these people. Having lived and worked on that continent, extended family can go on for ever!

The extended family point is another reason why an arrangement with regional countries is common sense. It isn't the elites who make these decisions who will have to pay the price for them....so personally I'm dead against it. I want the people who make these decisions to be the same people who are directly affected by them.

so the UK is paying money to keep johnny foreigner away ? sounds just like the Dane-geld. And how did that all fare ? a disaster that increased the motivation of invaders to invade. And it made them stronger. Edited by PalazioVecchio (10 Sep 2021 6.59pm)

As for the Dane-geld: Any objective look at reality shows you that the people who run Britain and its institutions actually want immigrants/foreigners.....We can look at what Politicians have said over the years but it's far more revealing to look at what they have actually done. People will lie and manipulate with words but that's harder to do with actions....The Tories under Cameron said immigration would be reduced to tens of thousands instead of hundreds....Well that was always a lie to their base and now under Johnson it's at record numbers. Elites don't care as their wealth insulates them. The poor are always there to mop up any negatives and as they own the media megaphone only a little opposition will be offered, which most won't hear.

Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Sep 2021 5.28pm) We were involved in making the mess so we have a duty to take refugees, along with the other nations involved. Those refugees are innocents. I’m glad people with some empathy at least and a recognition of history are in charge of making decisions and not people like you.

None of the people who make these decisions have to live with these foreigners. Indeed, people like me aren't making the decisions. That's why any blood won't be on my hands but on those who think empathy is an excuse.

The country you supposedly love so much yet hate life here and reject acknowledging its history. The most plastic patriot out.
