Knowing our luck, he'll play like Eddie The Eagle...

Asking around online I got the answer he is a bit like Ings

(The actual answer made the comparison much more strongly but it was from a Blackburn fan so I'm making allowances)

Thought this scout report might be of interest

28 goals for a team finishing 11th is a superb return in the Championship.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Oddly I've now asked a second completely unrelated Blackburn fan and he made the exact same comparison.

It must be a thing up there "he is our ...." and perhaps there aren't exactly many quality forwards about to compare to. Looking at the scouting report linked I suspect it's the mobility that draws the comparison.

Is this the something different up top we’ve been crying out for?
A natural goal scorer - in a rubbish team in the Championship. I reckon he’s more like a young Dougie than AJ - scores eye catching goals from all over the place. Every reason to think he can replicate this in the Prem in red and blue.

Would be another terrific signing if we can get it over the line. Rapid striker who plays off the shoulder. Very similar to AJ in the way he has lots of different finishes. My only fear is that he can sometimes be a little wasteful. 189 shots last season and only 85 on target. He may need to be a bit more clinical in the Prem but he’s still only 24 plenty of time to improve.

That 189 includes 55 blocked shots and a large percentage of these might have been on target.

If we had a term to break it this would of already of been done.

20m is not the going rate players are worth the value someone else is willing to pay for them (Wilf prime example SP claimed he was worth 80m everyone else said nope look how that turned out plus this guy only has 1 year left on contract)

Must be other options from abroad close to this fee.

it kind of is the ballpark for top champ players recently

eze 18m
mcburnie 18m
buendia 25m
watkins 20m
maupay 18m
benrahma 25m
bowen 18m
