railway hotel could be 2 places. The photo you showed was the Railway Hotel Purley. Now gone. The Railway Tavern was in Croydon diagonally opposite West Croydon Station if I remember rightly. The old Purley ballroom turned in to cinderellas eventually.Only went there once opn a monday night and am pleased to say i got a 100% shag record out of there, a nice young lady from carshalton, it was on the night in 87 I think of the storms, when I entered her domain, everything was normal, when I left the whole area was in turmoil, trees blocking every road, I hadn"t heard a thing!
