I may be wrong but isn't Superman a fictional character from another galaxy, whereas Anne Boleyn was a real person? If so, then surely the former is "fair game' for interpretation whereas the latter isn't. You are not wrong. What the black DC fans are upset with though is the lazy thought of 'we'll just make Kal El/Superman black so that'll make everything pc and everyone will be happy' rather than taking the time to pick one of the other Supermen who are black and putting the effort into making a film and giving them an identity and a back story.

Definitely a point worth highlighting in this case. At least you're approaching this is a real world manner, and offering this particular black perspective. Usually that would be intentionally omitted and we'd get a kind of 'the blacks are at it again' from those looking to further dubious and wayward identity politics of their own. Kudos to you for offering a fair minded take on the need for fleshed out characters rather than tokenism for the sake of it.

I'm certainly no expert, but my son informs me that there is already a Black Superman in the DC Comics called Steel.
