Foxtrot by Genesis.

It is a cliche, but I never tire of Supper's Ready.

Also Selling England by the Pound and Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. As a single track, it has got to be The Musical Box.

Massive early Genesis fan. Post 76 - not so much.

one of the few albums i still play start - finish, without skipping a track(along with Hunky Dory)

Thats Entertainment by the Jam.

Driving through Streatham my mate had Sound Affects on cassette tape (Ask your parents kids). Just blew me away windows Down sound up. Rewound continually.

Londons Calling - The Clash

The other time was while living in the Alabama 2am driving home through a real Redneck town. With only Country and Western on the Radio. Londons Calling came on. I have to admit I had to pull over I have never felt more like I wanted to be home. Never heard it out there again.

My older stepbrother had a room which was out-of-bounds to everyone. It was full of motorcycle gearboxes and pistons, had an oily carpet and a large rock record collection and player.
I snuck in one afternoon (very early 1980's) and pulled an LP out, with a woman in a hurricane with her skirt blowing ala Monroe on the cover.

I put on the first track, Rush: spirit of Radio, and was blown away.
Rock became my little sanctuary through lifes turbulent moments.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Yep, that would have been Permanent Waves.

I confess I only discovered Rush recently, after their drummer Neil Peart died in January last year. Heard some of his remarkable drumming and learnt that he wrote and sung many of their tracks.

There's only one album in my collection though, 'a farewell to kings' it's a cracker.
