I thought he was pissed off cos he didn’t get the decorating job. I mean he was always dressed ready to start.

The two above made me laugh.

We used to do all sorts of daft things, a favourite was to find a deserted red telephone box and phone up Kruschev or Chairman Mao.

In all seriousness I was put through to GPO international enquiries and some pour soul would actually go to great lengths to find the Kremlin phone number.

I bit off more than I could chew when I actually got through to the White House however, and I legged it.

We used to get unlimited credit on BT phone boxes and do the same. For some reason we also rang everyone in the phone book called Mr. Crisp. There are a surprising number of them. We would ring random US numbers at Christmas and sing Christmas Carols with swear words thrown in. That worked a treat.

Hello, R.U.Smelly?

Yes.

Well, what are you going to do about it?

Looks like he’s been asking donors to pay for his childcare now.

[Link]

Perhaps if he can’t afford to have children he shouldn’t have had them in the first place.

And another for Johnson doesn't appear to be damaging him as it should.

Boris Johnson wrongly cleared over Covid contracts, say MPs.

Cross-party group calls for action against PM for misleading Commons over multibillion-pound deals.

The cabinet secretary also under fire.

How many breaches of the ministerial code count as a real one?

Ask Blair

Senior Conservatives say donors have been approached about funding other aspects of the couple’s lifestyle. ??????

A prominent MP received a complaint from a Tory donor that they were asked to foot the bill for a nanny for Wilfred, Johnson’s son with Symonds, who turned one last week. The donor is alleged to have said: “I don’t mind paying for leaflets but I resent being asked to pay to literally wipe the prime minister’s baby’s bottom.”

How extremely unedifying, yuk.

By way of balance this one's for those who think I am a rabid right winger.

Boris guilty over Mustique holiday.

[Link]

It certainly looks that way, very opaque at least.

I would query one thing the Ombudsman doesn't believe it was 15k more like 30k because "the advertised cost of renting the villa at that time of the year was £3,300 per day – or £33,000 over ten days, more than double the £15,000 which was declared by Mr Johnson"

Sure to us mere mortals but this is like the Presidential suite at a hotel costing xxx per night. If the President ever stays there do you actually think he pays that price?

The prestige of having a PM stay at your villa will naturally allow for a large discount so I don't agree with her about that figure.

However it's all very murky I don't get why Boris didn't do what Tony Blair and all the other PM's do blag a freebie with a mate.

Let's see if he can wriggle his way out of it.

This whole completely foreseeable clusterf*ck over the Indian variant should have people seething. Can see restrictions remaining in place longer because of it. Genuinely staggered at the lack of anger towards the government for so many decisions (or more accurately lack of) that they’ve made during this whole sorry saga.
