A lot are saying Ramsey, would come to Palace, because of the Viera, factor. But what about the Osian Roberts factor.? Roberts has coached Ramsey at international level, and probably the two know each other very well. Viera. Is a plus but Roberts must have a hand in this.

My guess is we will pay him £75k/wk when he’s fit enough to play and we will give him a 2 year contract. The plan must surely be to replace Connor at end of season and get 2 seasons out of him. The deal will be Juve will pay £300k/wk til his contract runs out there. So with any luck he will come then start playing in March and bang in a few goals this season. Then have 2 good seasons as our top scorer then retire. Thank Roberts and Pat for this.

I would rather we had spent big wages on Trippier. As someone has already said, Ramsey will not be fully ready for full fat PL football until the end of the season, if ever, as his injuries have come in the twilight of his career.

Pay per play deal otherwise no thanks. The Connor Wickham of Serie A. Not for me.

I would be very surprised if this happens. He is 31, injury prone and Juve are basically paying him not to play football.

Ramsey with his injury history (such as it has been reported) is a risk, but we shouldn't leap to conclusions that's he the second Connor Wickham entirely. He has said, and there is evidence to back it up, that he's been poorly managed at Juventus. What can't be argued is that he's had three different managers in three years, which hardly helps an incoming player. His injuries have been vague and ill-defined ("muscle injury" as opposed to something clear like a broken leg) and there's good reason to think that COVID has had more impact on older players, who probably rely on consistent training patterns, more than younger ones, particularly when they're bedding into a new club. Prior to Juventus, Ramsey wasn't a sick note. It seems to me that while yes, he's had physical issues at Juventus he also seems never to really have settled there (witness his determination to return to London now). I think there's more to the story than meets the eye, personally. And I would imagine that whatever his physical condition really is, one person who'd have more insight than most is likely Osian Roberts. If Juve are willing to pay around 75% of this wages; if he genuinely wants to come to Palace, and if we're satisfied with his physical condition at present, I'd probably take the risk. If he returns to anything even close to his best form, can you imagine what our midfield and the competition for places would be like? He'd also be a statement signing. When they make decisions, players follow other players and if a high-profile name like Aaron Ramsay comes to Palace after Arsenal and Juventus, that sends a message around football about the desirability of joining our club. Don't underestimate that. On balance, I think there are just about more pluses than minuses to bringing Ramsey in.

I think we have pulled out (mail). He would have found the PL tough going imo.

If we can get him back fit and form we have a top 6 player on our hands. If not its an expensive gamble. I'm not sure what I would do if I was Parish. Gut would be to invest in youth and use the same money to get 2 kids in.

I was surprised we were chasing him as we're moving away from expensive aging players. That being said, can't pretend I wasn't slightly intrigued as he was fantastic a couple of years ago. Still, seems like it wasn't to be. We'll see how he does at Newcastle.
