If Traore comes on in the second half, which the announcers are anticipating, I'm nervous. Did Eze have any touches where he was facing goal? He doesn't look dangerous with his back to goal.

That's OK so far. Although they've had a below-par season since losing their forward, defensive solidity is a big part of Wolves game. They have some sort of record for first half clean sheets I think, and have got a lot of points from keeping it tight and scoring when opponents over commit. We don't want to make that mistake.

We're playing 4-2-3-1. Eze so far struggling to find space as we're a bit narrow, but PvA and Wilf starting to stretch things a bit at the end. We look more balanced, but I don't think Bats can lead the line on his own. Jairo looks like he will replace McCarthy second half and he is more capable of threading balls so hopefully we'll be more threatening second half. Both teams look low on confidence and it could go either way. If I was a Wolves fan I would be screaming to push our defence which looks as solid as ever i.e. not at all.

We have Zaha,Eze,Batshuayi and Ayew in the starting line up and haven't had an effort on target. Edited by Willo (30 Jan 2021 3.59pm)

I'd like to see the spread betting for when Mateta comes on. I'd take 68 - 72 minutes for the bank, you can buy before 68 min and sell after 72 min. So what minute does he come on ... ?

Yep , f*cking get him on. If you compare us with every other club in the country, they rarely find a striker that can score regularly. They seem to come around once or twice a decade.

A new formation is being attempted, but so far we don’t look more threatening.

Edited by Willo (30 Jan 2021 3.59pm) In fairness I think this is the system many of us have wanted Roy to play rather than 442. The issues so far are that Bats isn't much good with his back to goal against a deep defence (but could be good as the front man against a higher line), Eze is struggling to get on the ball facing forward in their third (again, Wolves play deep and tight with two defensive midfielders, but give him time as the game wears on), and Ayew isn't a creative wide player as such (but who do we have that is?). With respect, I think 'shambles' is far too harsh. Edited by TheBigToePunt (30 Jan 2021 4.05pm)
