If you want to think everything Is sh@te, guess what, it will be! Maybe try and think a bit more positively, Nissan are investing in the country and creating jobs, this after we have been told our economy will collapse. So Nissan are going to continue in the country they already have a plant in, hardly cause for celebrating, just same as before, makes you wonder what all the bother was about doesn"t it by the leavers- i didn"t actually vote so could be said i shouldn"t have an opinion- just playing devils advocate!

Reading the detail of the Nissan news it's basically that they are no longer planning on moving anything because we've managed to get a deal that means UK production will continue to meet EU standards and therefore does not impact upon their EU market access. So maintaining the status quo of what would have happened if we had stayed in the EU. Good to know that maintaining the pre-Brexit status quo is news to celebrate. Edited by DanH (22 Jan 2021 5.26pm)

And why have they not approved it? A lot of European nations are doing their collective pieces at the moment over the vaccination cock-up. I appreciate we are all guilty of assuming the bias of whatever side we support but on this particular issue, the EU have been beyond woeful. And for a nation like the R.O.I, it must be even more galling. I get why we all like to blow certain trumpets and ignore others but on this issue, there is really nothing positive to say about the EU approach. An approach which many people told us we should join in with. My mum has been offered the vaccine by both Guys hospital and also her Doctor. The UK really does appear to be well ahead of the curve on this one and that is thanks to Brexit.

Our death rate is appalling. But that has nothing to do with our vaccine programme. The reality is that the EU is being roundly slated for its poor performance on this. Causing all sorts of ructions from within. Come on, take a rational step back here. The EU has failed miserably on this particular issue. And people are going to suffer for it. I have an 85 year old Uncle who has already had both injections and my mum is having it done on Saturday, having been offered it by two different medical bodies. That is a real positive. If we had still been in the EU that would not be happening at this time.

Yes, i was going on a couple days ago figures, we have the third worst death rate in the world, behind Belgium and Slovenia, but ahead of our european neighbours Italy, who are fifth, and Spain right down in thirteenth, Germany and Ireland are so far down they don"t register!
