It is my belief that Wikipedia doesn’t detail where Cheikhou played for Anderlecht, it only shows dates and appearances. Therefore (and for the avoidance of doubt) I must assert that Trolley will struggle massively for that type of information. If my recollection is correct though I understand that he has seen him play (via the television in his living room) and can confirm that he is definitely over 5’ 6” tall and has two legs. (Actually, scrap that last bit as I think it might’ve been from an overheard conversation on Lancing beach)

This is taking us off topic but no matter what he is CD or CDM, the fact is we shipped a huge amount of goals last season when he was ever present. Get him back to midfield. We need more cover than we have.

I have not perused detailed statistics, but to the best of my knowledge, Kouyate played mainly as a midfielder at W.Ham and we bought him to play in this position, hence my comments.

I hope we can get Kabak and at a reasonable price both fee and wages. What he earned at Liverpool isn't that relevant. More to the point, what was he earning at Schalke? I doubt whether he was earning anywhere near what Liverpool were paying him and it must have hurt his bank account to revert to his Schalke wages. Schalke are rumoured to ne brassic after relegation and are desperate to sell him so perhaps a satisfactory deal can be done although there must be other clubs looking at him as a potential bargain

Although I wouldn’t be adversed to this signing, especially if under £10m, I do wonder if this is a smokescreen put up by the club, to detract attention from their main target.... Andersen or Nelsson anyone?

Andersen or Nelsson anyone? To my ageing eyes, Joachim Andersen never appeared to be the quickest (But no slouch) and at times was found wanting when having to turn quickly when confronted with an opposition player.

Andersen or Nelsson anyone? Screen or otherwise ,it seems more smoke than fire. If we had made an offer , then something could be cooking, That’s the vital ingredient missing at this minute. The problem is every commentator , now has a profile in their heads , as to what Palace are in the market for. And write pieces making claims in line with that.
