I do find that funny and wildly inaccurate. I for one have never tried to get anyone banned. Neither would I want anyone banned in my name. However, there are rules, and if you break them, the mods have the power to deal with that in what ever way they please. You know that as well as anyone.
On rare occasions I have complained to mods about insults and accusations which I thought went beyond what is supposedly acceptable but only in the interests of a level playing field.
