Obviously it’s interlinked but do you honestly think everyone taking the knee is doing so for the organisation’s cause rather than an anti-racist cause?

The players taking a knee is about anti-racism. If you boo it you are a racist. It really is that simple. How does one show their displeasure at players taking the knee then For BLM?

Or course not. But that does not stop it being a specifically political gesture. Football had plenty of anti-racism programmes in place. Kneeling in this manner is a very specific show of support for a very specific political movement. At least grant BLM the respect of acknowledging that. If a rabid-right wing lunatic like me can do that, surely somebody as caring and sympathetic as yourself can offer them the same courtesy?

This is beyond delusional. What did the players have on the back of their shirts? What did the banners inside the footgrounds proclaim? Black Lives Matter. BLM. s***, I think its even trade marked. You really are the worst kind of white person. Me, I loathe BLM and I am sure I am not on their Kwanzaa card list either but at least I have enough respect to acknowledge them as a active political movement. But you? You cannot even do that, instead trying to minimise its impact. Why on earth would you do that? I bet not one of the players have the slightest bit of control over what is on their shirts. I also would bet that very few, if any, have any knowledge of the BLM political movement and those that do have no sympathy for it. Very few people in the UK are aware of the political beliefs of the BLM organisation. They have sympathy for the concept and make the assumption that the two things are identical. It may be naive but not everybody follows politics that closely. I would suggest by not acknowledging this you are the worst kind of "white" person. You are certainly naive.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |
