Just to clarify brauny, not so much dog whistle more industrial sized air horn racism: OK. Calling people out on it or calling the incessant discussion of race boring and obsessive: Not OK.

There are different non white demographics in the country who aren't associated with the problems we have discussed here. It isn't skin colour that results in these issues. There are averages spread over holistic populations and unfortunately we have those that want to reduce these conversations down to 'racism' accusations because they don't have anything else. I'm not including you in that.

It isn't mandatory to post. If you don't like the subject you don't have to contribute to it and if enough people supported your stance then then the threads would be very short indeed.

No thread on race will ever be short with Stirling spending his entire existence posting his pseudo-intellectual GCSE sociology coursework on here all day every day. But hey, if you’re happy to let comments like shooting anyone that looks like a terrorist slide on your watch and then have an issue with people like me and brauny calling people out for their nonsense then that’s for you to be comfortable with.

As a member of HOL I ignore threads and people that hold no interest for me no matter what the content says but as a moderator I have to ensure that everyone that agreed to abide by the rules when they signed up actually stick to those very same rules - including the one about personal insults

As for being pseudo intellectual, I'd debate you on anything you'd like. I've never seen one cogent comment from you. You're a relative minnow and nothing but a moaner.

I was enjoying reading this post until you popped up. So a poster who you agree with knows what they are talking about but if you don’t agree with them, they don’t. How predictable you are If you actually read what I said I made no comment at all on whether I agreed, or not, with either. I just said that one obviously knew the subject whilst the other relies on pseudoscience and had been comprehensively out reasoned as a consequence. In my opinion. What came to mind as the exchanges continued, with one remaining calm and factual and the other becoming angry and cornered, was the idea I read a few weeks ago and posted here. I cannot recall where it came from other than it was in an American journal. What it suggested was that some people object to being called racist much more than actually being racist.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

The 'racism' charge comes mainly from the left and most of the time appears to be an anti white, sometimes working class slur, and an attempt to close down discussions of issues they don't like. The concept of 'racism' carries with it nothing but gravitas for the easily impressed. It is in-group preference and is no different to any other preference. It is the default in most places within the world. And in most instances is wildly over stated. The main claim for having a preference appears to be that no one can control what race they are....which is true....and that's it's an immutable characteristic. Well....so what? That doesn't stop people picking and choosing based upon immutable characteristics in everything else. Given a choice on a purely aesthetic basis any other of these clowns will always choose the naturally better looking women over the less better looking one. If they had the choice they would prefer the long legged girlfriend over the short and all the rest of it. They will choose the more intelligent over the less.....The younger over the older. The more social over the less. All immutable characteristics in most instances and it shows up the hyperbolic and hypercritical nature of the 'racism' charge. What matters is how you treat people in reality, not having an opinion that fits with their child-like conceptions of the world. Also, when you look at where most of those making these claims live and move to....You also get to see the difference between what people say and what they do.
