Solanke came good in the last few games, and was someone we were interested in. Who knows, he might be on our long list? Dazza might know!

Came good when other clubs/players were on holiday, where was he all season when they needed him most?

Don't like him, not good enough, can't stand signing player's in the hope that they might be better playing for a new club, look at West Ham, prime example.

Cost them there premier league status, circa £35 million for these 2. Howe really did have a poor record in the transfer market. Any club hiring him in the future, would need to make him head coach only, therefore devoiding him of having sole responsibility of transfers.

He did sign Ryan Fraser for £400K and it proved an excellent buy.
Callum Wilson at £3 Mill has been another excellent buy.
Matt Ritchie was signed for £400K and they sold him to Newcastle for £12 Mill.
Goalkeeper Ramsdale was signed for £1 Mill but has recently been sold for £18.5 Mill.
Ake was signed for £20 Mill and has been sold for £41 Mill.
Mings cost Bournemouth £8 Mill but was sold to A.Villa for £20 Mill rising to £25 Mill.
Mousset cost nearly £5.5 Mill but was sold for £10 Mill.

Thanks for that Willo and I take your point, perhaps what I'm getting at is the big money signings, including these 2 and Lermar at £25 million and there are others, but I can't be bothered to research, have been a failure.

If we are going on small signings as a success, then Freedman, has got to be one of the best?

Freedman signed Joel Ward for £600K, Delaney on a free, Jedinak on a free,Bolasie for £350K, Murray on a free etc etc so good business done.

Hence why he is sporting director of Crystal Palace. Trouble is signing players like this for a premiership club, is a lot more difficult.

These players are not brought in where there sole objective is, to avoid relegation, they have something to aim towards in the championship, promotion.

They also build a bond towards there team mates, in getting promotion and carry that on (Sheffield utd).

So buying these sort of players is a big gamble, unless they are young and we are willing to take a gamble (eze).

Vardy perfect example, came through the leagues, everything set up for him at Leicester on and off the field, could he do the same for a top 6 club?
Who knows, and we never will do.

Zaha I get the feeling, like it or lump it, will be the same, unless next season, he really performs, but I'm doubtful.

prob unpopular opinion but.. if we miss out on other targets such as Fraser or OS I wouldnt be massively upset with Ibe. The upside will be the lack if transfer fee and you would assume modest PL wage. It reminds me a little of Bolasie, hes not as tricky as Bolasie but has (maybe HAD, not sure) some talent.. If we pluck him from obscurity. He'd add competition on the right with Townsend and is far more direct than Andros. He could be another of those that havnet found a club that fits, I see him and us working.

Worth bearing in mind. People normally only draw attention to the big money flops.

In the last 8 years, I think we've only sold Gayle, Bolasie, Murray, Jedinak, Sorloth and AWB for a fee. We've raised about £100m.

Probably a very low amount comparative to over clubs in our division.

Yeah he needs to get himself right first and hopefully he can reignite the football afterwards. Good luck to him

He is no anywhere near PL standard. Only a madman would sign him for a PL team.
