Instead I imagine the prospect of continuing to pick up bags of gold for failing here is far more pleasant. I think that in a team that put a lot of crosses into the box he'd be back to something like he was.....If I were Villa I would definitely be in for him as a loan with an option. How many right backs were we linked with in the summer yet we didn't manage to sign one Do you pay the asking price for a car? Neither do I. Yet there are people out there who do. Likewise players and clubs. There are fans who believe we should have our pants constantly pulled down. Bad business. If the price is wrong don't buy. I was as frustrated as any fan by not finding an immediate replacement at RB. But do you not think the market was ready to screw us on price as they sensed a need? We need to tell the market in plain terms that we will not voluntarily bend over that barrel like man utd do. Trade but on sensible terms.

Interesting analogy. If you are buying a premier league car like Parish's Ferrari you pay the asking price. It's only run of the mill cars that you can haggle over discounts. It's the same with footballers. If you want the footballing equivalent of a Ferrari you pay the going rate. To continue with your motoring analogy what Parish is allegedly trying to do is to rent the Ferrari but with the supplying dealer paying half of the rental costs. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out

If he wants to play in the prem he will do, we may well be a stop gap, but ffs he's earnt his money, now come and show us what you are made off. Edited by sotac464 (25 Jan 2020 7.33pm)

Apparently, the loan option for 6 months will have him keeping his salary, just that it's unknown whether Palace pays 60% or 100% of it. Football players choose highest salaries offered not only because they have 2-3 years there, but also because after that they usually keep their salary level for new negotiation. Sigh He will be paid according to his contractual right. Currently I am sure he is also benefiting from an advantageous tax regime. You think we’ll offer to make that good too?
