Personally, am not as unhappy as some on here and quite pleased with the signings we did make. McCarthy in particular is very low risk and could turn out to be a bargain if he can find some form after injury.

Signing a right back was in my view, low priority, there's adequate cover there, and although it would have been nice to get another striker, there's no guarantee they would score goals either.

If Meyer continues to improve, Camarasa in, and with Zaha staying, there's goals in the team with Benteke up top, if it clicks. If not we'll probably be ok anyway.

Is Parish the new Mike Ashley?
Rake in the tv money, sell a RB for £50M don’t replace him, don’t sign a striker when we’ve needed one for 3 f***ing years!
Don’t spend a lot in investment year after year. We win about 5 home games a season for £600! f***ing boring

Yep, some utter fantasists on this forum. Benteke has been given an incredible amount of patience and opportunity - 47 PL starts in the last 2 seasons, plus 14 sub appearances. 61 appearances in 2 seasons, yielding 4 goals.

61 appearances, 4 f***ing goals.

I'm really astonished by what I'm reading here. I've followed Palace for over 50 years and have always been a glass half full fan - until now. It's beyond belief that we didn't sign a replacement for AWB even if funds are limited. Clearly Wilf's head will now be in a different place for a while at least - and as for Benteke, I'm not sure its a mental thing with him or whether he should've come complete with a barn door when we signed him. Either way it's going to take all of Roy's experience to keep us up this season. Thank God we still have him at least.

im happy, we kept wilf and have strengthened the squad bar right back, however we have a player who is extremely experienced and has never let us down to play there in joel ward.

on top of that we only spend like £4m in fees whilst doing so...fantastic business.

bring on the new season...onwards & upwards.

We’ve lost Batshuayi, have that useless waste of space Benteke back in as first choice with rusty Wickham to come on twice before crocking himself again and Ward to get roasted after game 3 or 4 right up until January.

On the plus side we have 5 slow but experienced and reliable CB’s and about 7 midfielders who play sideways a lot and a new attacking midfielder.

Our signings are piss poor - Cahill excepted. They are just average Championship quality Grrrrr.

Our priority should have been a striker, someone like Mitrovic. £35 - 40M of the AWB money would have got him.

Sack Freedman, as a spotter of talent he doesn't have a clue.

Yep. After all the profligacy we then bought who was available. Now we mainly buy whoever is being chucked out in the rubbish.

The squad is so imbalanced again it’s mad.

Grossly underwhelming .....
I have to say when I heard that Zaha was staying I was disappointed and I never thought I would say that. A golden opportunity to sell for what appears to be good money and freshen up the side with someone such as Sarr. As it seems it was all smoke and mirrors and through to Aldi closing time. Now RH has the task of trying to motivate Wilf without his toys staying out of the pram. Of course this takes planning which, we are p**s poor at.
As has been said on here today to sign no right back and no centre forward is an utter disgrace.

So the financials .....
Out
AWB. £50m

In
Ayew. £2.5m
McCarthy. £3.0m
Cammy. £1.50m (initial loan fee)
Cahill. Free

Total. £7.0m

Net profit £43.0m

Same ambitions clearly as before....just finish out of the bottom 3!

Happy days for the shareholders and Directors.

Utter tripe of a window Freedman should by sued for robbing a living from the club. No striker again, no right back, we are owned by a penny pinching cretin...almost miss Noades, at least we knew where we stood with him.
