As usual, excellent when he came on. He gets into little pockets of space which no other midfielders do. Has a great first touch and threads lovely balls through to the strikers.

He needs to be starting games.

Roy prefers an aging Scotsman who couldn’t thread a pair of socks let alone a neat through ball.

Good servant to the club but no longer a starter with Meyer in our ranks.

And sadly for him one that committed the most ridiculous miss of the season so far today, very embarrassing for a pro footballer.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I'm losing my patience with RH sticking with Benteke and not playing Meyer.

Today was a prime example of how Bats and Meyer made a huge difference when they came in.

RG needs to wake up and smell the coffee - too many dropped points lately.

Seriously ? Couldn’t thread a pair of socks ? You must have had your head stuck up your arse for the last four years.

Yeah, mcarthur makes runs that are difficult for defenders to pick up, arrives late and from deep. His finishing has always been poor with his goal either tap in/ slides or scuff types so I don't greet the hate - he's simply not getting the rub of the green ob them but he is getting the chances and causing problems. Max is a completely different player, more likely to slow it down and stand the defender up. It's a choice and the reason is no doubt the style Roy thinks will work best for us

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

He seems to make more of an impact when on as a sub, never looks good when starting...I hate the phrase "Super sub" and im sure he doesnt want it either, but it does seem to apply to him...I want him to play but I havnt seen anything impressive when he starts for us...

Meyer looks pretty when making his passes and is very effective when we are in our flow, but when our backs are up against the wall give me McArthur all day long. He puts the hard graft in and gives us gritt in midfield that I think Meyer cannot offer. It’s difficult because there is different points in every game when both would excel.

superb when he came on. great movement. I think we can afford his weaknesses for what he brings. he makes Wilf a different proposition because he picks the ball up in dangerous positions, draws men to him, and can then release Wilf in more space than he otherwise gets.

I it's time he started a run of games. 100%.

When he comes on we don’t need to do as much defending, as he takes the game to the other team.

It is an interesting debate as to whether Meyer should start and I guess it depends on whether you prefer a safety first approach or would prefer to play on the front foot.
Roy is clearly in the first camp and will play strong and hard working midfield players all day long in preference to ball players.
The first priority for him is solidity and team shape.
He’s not alone in this among English coaches as players such as Hodfle, Bowles and Currie were left out over the years in preference to hard working physical players.
For me we tend to,look better when Meyer is involved as he knits the play together in advanced positions and have more variety to our play.
If we have our normal back four and two defensive midfield players as well as a hard working Townsend surely we can take a few more risks?

Saha and Meyer are very in tune in and around the box, they are just given time to exploit the opposition. Then again our finishing was abysmal yesterday 26 attempts, yeah 26 attempts we should have absolutely buried WH...
