This is nuts, after all the relentless complaints about our transfer dealings over the years suddenly the same folk are saying we should "cash in" on Wilf, our best attacking players in years and use the money to "easily replace" him for a mere "£15m". You guys do realise that Jeff Schlupp sold for near £13m? As I said before, posters just wanting to be controversial as a guise for seeming to have a clue about football.

Explain. You don't seem to understand that finding players of his quality at a club like ours is a once in a generation event. You don't win games by having eleven average players. You have to have someone or two who occupy defenders and take the pressure of your own defence. Surely you watch the PL every week. The lad said we've won one game ever without Zaha, off the top of my head we've beaten Sunderland without Zaha and, of course, that wouldn't have been this season so that's at least twice we've won without him.

Deluded if you think he wont be sold one day. The club will want the money while he is still worth a lot/the player (quite rightly) will want to test himself at a higher level and win things.

This is becoming a thread of the deluded. Wilf is the difference between survival and relegation make no mistake. We have won one game without him ever. You cannot just replace players like him because you have money to spend at a modest club like ours. You are the deluded one. Say Palace reject a 60m offer for him because he is 'the difference between survival and relegation' and then he breaks his leg and is out for a year or more. Who is the deluded mug then?

Talking of reason what reason would Wilf have to stay if he’s serious about his career. Doesn’t really matter if he’s the reason we’re still in PL if he wants to leave. The thing is he is irreplaceable so let’s build a team that spreads the responsibility. As I said before lots of teams don’t have a “Wilf”. This. Plus his form lately has been crap anyway

Who is the deluded mug then? So we sell our best ever player because he might break his leg? I have heard it all now. With fans like these, it's no wonder the board doesn't bother to show any ambition.

That makes all the difference. I think I might make a top 10 stupidest reasons to sell Zaha thread. But wait. This thread will do nicely.

Anyone else hope that he goes for ridiculous money, absolutely folds again like he did last time he went , and is back at Palace within 18 months again for peanuts ? Or is it just me.

Not that I particularly *want* to sell him, but if Dortmund are offering £60m+ for him then I'd rather he go to another country's top side, than go to a rival Premier League team and have him run rings around us in the league. Plus, better to sell sooner rather than later, so we have a few days to reinvest the money in a new striker that actually scores goals.
