yeah that fair enough, but how many American indians were murdered? the commonwealth is a different story altogether because technically they are still part of the 'empire' i really dont think that you can say that colonisatio has had any good impact on ex colonies in Africa - people are generally a lot worse off than they were before hand and things are not going to get better quickly. education and healthcare is still minimal, and before there were many other different techniques used. the boundaries that were imposed when Africa was carved up has caused so many internal conflicts over land because indiginous tribal land was cut into peices to make new countries. the British shipped millions of people from the west coast of Africa to the Americas, and from india to East Africa to work on British projects - at what benefit to themselves? where exactly were the benefits? womens role in the middle east is very different to the role of women here. many middle eastern countries see british women as prostitutes as they see no evidence of morality when british women visit their countries, especially in the way we dress. its not that they're uncivilised - just different. every country has human rights abuses, its just that Islamic countries have now been labelled as terror nations, and that label wont shift quickly

the middle east is not the only place in the world that there is oil. iraq is a strategic place for attacking the rest of the middle eastern nations and controlling all the oil and also a very good position for assisting in the israel war etc etc. geroge bush is a much bigger threat to world peace than saddam ever was, and if anyone should be locked up it should be him

i know it wasnt peaceful but it didnt exactly help matters yet but britain would have had more of an interest in exactly what happened in ireland as it is geographically that much closer than africa. we can all ignore whats going on there as its so far away. as for the middle east, the issue runs much deeper than just oil, its more to do with GWB jr finishing the job that his father couldnt. he is the puppet and his dad is pulling the strings. he shouldnt even be the president of the USA, the whole thing is corrupt and as the most powerful man in the world, GWB can do exactly what he likes, it really wouldnt surprise me if he had ordered the soldiers to torture the prisoners himself.

i think you'll find that the Libya issue was to do with a deal struck between their Gov and the UK Gov, im sure i read in the paper on that same day in a teenie tiny article on about page 368 that a big UK based oil/petrol company had just struck a deal for supplies from the oil reserves in the area. also coincidental that the lockerbie crash was all dug up again, and also the police woman murder. definately more to it than them just deciding to give up their weapons.

Let them get on with it, we've tried to help and yet, are still wasting a s*** load of money on a country that obviously doesn't welcome us. Please don't forget though, the coalition haven't beheaded anybody but they have killed thousands of innocent people and been involved in alleged murders, rapes etc..

yeah saddam has killed many people in the time that he was in power, but america are not fault less either. since the end of the second world war they have been involved in around 60 conflicts all over the world which they had no right to. so how many lives have been lost at the hands of america since then? id say many more than saddam has killed. what im saying is saddam is not the only evil man in the world and its just because we live in the UK which has a close affiliation with USA that we believe that what we are doing is essentially right rather than fundamentally wrong

As an aside, under international law that is no grounds for war anyway. But humanitarianly (not sure thats a word) speaking, he killed many more prior to September 11th 2001 than after. Why had we not gone in sooner? This is all getting very off topic now.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. - John Bostock (Nov 2007) |
