Rumours are that he wouldn't be fit for another few weeks and then will take a few more weeks to get match fit. An alleged loan fee of £2m is rather a lot to spend on a player who might only play for us for a couple of months

And I think a lot of the stadium spend is hygiene factors isn't it? I.e. the infrastructure is on its last legs.

Thanks.

Silly of me to forget Murray but I would have sworn - wrongly - that we gave Jedi a free.

That still only adds about 10 mill to the transfer profit. It seems very thin pickings.i suppose that it comes down to our eternal relegation battle dictating safe transfers of hard bitten players with prem experience.

Or you could look at it another way. That we manage to hang onto our better players. I'm sure we could make a log of money from Zaha, Townsend, and a few others. But would rather we hung onto them.

I know Roy is a fan if prem experience but I’d like to see us develop more players. It may be wrong think but it bugs me that the only two players I can recall us turning a profit in are Gayle and Bolassie. Part of our financial strife is down to our lack of outward sales. I don’t like it but teams in our position do need to be able to turn some form of income from sales.

The dynamics of the transfer market have changed due to the money now swilling around in the Premier. We are no longer a selling club of our best players, as in the past. The transfer fees are no longer so relevant, its the wages that are the big factor due FFP. Clubs aren't prepared to buy players for a higher fee and take their wage deal.
This unfortunately is where CPFC 2010 has made mistakes in the past, as our wage bill is 83% of revenue. Steps are being made to offload unwanted players, but having to wait until their contracts nearly up ie Mutch and Puncheon.

I don’t know if dazza has any more info but some dizzy doughnut who goes by transfer geezer on Twitter reckons niasse deal dead and hodgson not impressed by Batshuayi goal return this season so probably won’t go for him either

First, what is your actual evidence that we were ever even in for Defoe. Second, from what the club, and Warnock, have said about Liverpool things changed after a deal was agreed. Also, when the club said Solanke was injured and would not be able to come straight into the team, that has turned out to be true. So, 0 from 2 claims so far.

January 14: Ince, Dann, Ledley, Hennessey, Puncheon.

January 15: Mutch, Zaha, Souare, Anderson, Sanogo, Lee.

January 16: Adebayor.

January 17: Milivojovic, Van Aanholt, Schlupp, Sakho.

January 18: Sorloth, Rakip, Cavalieri, Jach.

Two excellent windows, one mixed, two poor.

Maybe not quite as bad as you make out. We clearly need a decent striker, and some midfield creativity, but let’s not make stuff up to make a point.

All over the media today that Defoe rejected our approach as very impressed by the Gerrard project at Rangers.

Totally untrue, Palace have 4 or 5 options but taking time as looking to get best deal. The above 2 are on the list.

For SP it’s all about the best deal for the club under the current constraints, we just need to be paitient there will be incomings.

And at his age, so would I. Great way to play out your last couple of years of football. Easier than thd premiership and probably gets to play almost every game.

Yet he's continually singing the praises of Jordan Ayew

This is a really tricky window.
In the first part of the season we were crying out for a striker/goalscorer.
We now have Benteke and Wickham back to fitness and Ayew( fingers crossed) hitting some sort of form.
On the basis that Roy plays 4-4-2 with Zaha up front only one of those can play alongside him.
I can’t see Roy playing Townsend and Zaha wide in 4-4-2 with two strikers as this would leave midfield exposed from what we’ve seen of Roy.
It looks like we’re looking for a loan option in case Benteke/Wickham break down.
The likes of Abraham or Batshuayi on loan would expect to start, so I’m scratching my head on this one.
Personally I would like to take a punt on a goal scoring young midfielder such as Dack as we don’t seem to have one of those on the books.

Crystal Palace are deep into negotiations with Everton over the possibility of loaning out of favour #EFC striker Cenk Tosun. Roy Hodgson is said to be a huge admirer and is desperate for a natural goal scorer. #CPFC 🇹🇷🔵
