I see Emma popped back yesterday from LA to support them. You would think that a person who spends more time flying than most of us and no doubt first class (less seats more inefficient use of resources) might think about that before putting her head above the parapet. But then again no doubt she will say its her job which is more important than some shopworker off on their hard earned holidays. I am surprised that Russell, Lily and Benedict have chipped in as well. Edited by Badger11 (19 Apr 2019 7.44am)

See the difference in appearance from airport to protest venue. Today’s outfit is plain white shirt and blue dungarees and messed up hair. A bit different to getting off first class in the plane.

I don't know for a fact but I assume Emma travels first class or better than economy. I would have far more respect if she travelled economy and campaigned for airlines to abolish first class. Flying is a necessary evil but the more people on a plane the more efficient use of fuel. I would not expect her to give up flying no more than I would anyone else but if she is sincere she can make that point. Of course it does mean rubbing shoulders with the great unwashed but then she'll have to suffer for her art.

Live8 was one of the first marketed Green demo's. Tickets were free, but it was a lottery on some 0898 number. Celebrity bands jetted in from all over the world to promote Greeness and to sell some records and beanburgers. Dame Emma Thompson really exposed this farcical green movement as the cheap publicity vehicle it is. I may have to wait until after the weekend to post again. My computer is powered by sunlight, and needs recharging. These Chinese-made computers are constructed of the finest plastic, but their batteries are made from cheap highly-toxic metals that don't hold their charge.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

I searched her name on twitter and I think I found myself on a fansite if it wasn’t her own. Some of her supporters were saying they do fly quite a bit would be in favour of a quota of flights per person, like people who say they’d be for a higher tax rate but they won’t give their money over before. Unfortunately this got murkier with some saying you’d have people buying miles or trips of non fliers so that would have to be tightened.
