I would add that with Luca bawling him out after "that goal" that he is history now.
If you can't rely on your team mates then...........

I listened to the radio commentary and it was all Ayew.

He cannot replace Zaha, Benteke and Townsend, he is an ex-Swansea winger.

Worked his socks of with no support.

I was at the game and might suggest the radio commentary was possibly misleading.

Apart from being responsible for their goal his first touch was mostly awful (to the point he nutmegged himself on more than one occasion) & he offered very little.

Sørloth gave the Spurs defence far more to think about in his 20 mins on the pitch & he’s not exactly PL quality.

I feel Ayew could have done better on their goal, and certainly shown more grit, but I'm not convinced he'd have stopped it either way. The ball was in a perfect place for Foyth to attack and he did just that. Ayew was underneath it a bit (relative to Foyth)...but no doubt he could have been a bit more switched on and made it harder. maybe in making it harder Foyth would've messed up, but I doubt it.

Sorloth just needs a run of 10 games though. I'd put him in until Benteke is fit. He's got missing elements, 100%, but so did every player in our promotion winning side...sometimes a player just needs minutes and a little patience. when he's played v Arse and spurs, we've created chances.

There's an angle of the goal (camera looking across goal at Luka) that shows he had plenty of time (more than Foyth) to head the ball. It may not have been cleared far but it wouldn't have been in the back of our net. He appeared to simply stop & wait for it to drop so he could put a foot through it.

Luka's reaction to him tells you everything.

Ayew is just another square peg in a round hole.

We can't seem to accommodate him into our system.

You can say the same about Meyer. Huge fanfare when we signed him, but he's either over hyped or under performing.

Sorloth continues to be disappointment.

Which leaves me questioning both Roy's tactics and team selections and the quality of our scouting and recruitment personnel. It may be either, it may be both, but I'm getting a weekly reminder that it's not working.

He played just 16 times as winger for Swansea. He's a striker. But a poor striker who didn't score more than 15 goals in over 80 matches in the Premier League.

The decent Ayew player was his brother. People keep mixing up these 2, that's how we ended up with Jordan.

I thought it in my drunk state on Saturday and seeing the replay for the first time today, nothing has changed my mind. He had plenty of time to get to that ball and he bottled it..simple! He saw the oncoming Foyth and did not fancy it. All he had to do was jump up against him and it would have made it a lot more difficult to get good contact with the ball. Glad Luka called him out there and then, hope Roy did in the dressing room as well.

fair dues. I saw Luka lose his s*** and Ayew not contest it, so maybe.

You only have to look at PVA and Luka to see what they think of Ayew’s efforts in their goal.

If he wasn’t standing there I actually think PVA could have got there himself, his reaction somewhat indicates that.

It was seriously weak.

If you watch the goal Foyth was being marked by Kouyate when the first ball came in, then stood still and lost Foyth who had a free run onto the ball with Kouyate watching. Ayew just happened to be there, he was never going to get the ball, but he could of made an effort.

The ball looped up and I believe Ayew could have got there, at that very least you must be brave and get in there and maybe it puts Foyth off.

PVA and Luka were not rollicking Kouyate.

That's exactly what I made of it.

He could've made the header, and if not at least contested for it and put him off or blocked it.
