This is a broad statement, but, anyone who blames the Tories or Labour have not had the realisation yet that any party coming in; 1) has their hands tied due to globalisation. 2) Are mainly incompetent. In effect, we are really voting for the best of the worst rather than the best of the best.

Yes but there is a clear difference in this sense between Corbyn's Labour and New Labour/Tories on this front. The Tories and NL effectively ceded power to the hands of global finance. They hosted private fundraisers, courted the city and were in turn funded, mainly, by these organisations. But look at the difference in where Labour is taking funding from now. It is still Trade Unions yes, but less so, and much more it is about small donations from individuals on a large scale. This obviously has effect on policy. It is also being reflected in the new draft of Labour MPs, who are far more diverse and from poorer backgrounds than any other draft in the history of parliament. Is it enough? No it isn't. We need far greater representation of society in parliament, and we need far less corruption and nepotism. But for the first time in my lifetime it's going in the right direction.

I'm not sure how someone from a "diverse and from poorer background" could make better decisions than someone who is not. It's totally absurd. The right person for the job is the most qualified person – no matter his/her colour or class status. Equality of outcome is the Marxist nonsense which actually promotes inequality and you get inferior people in the roles. Edited by Penge Eagle (26 Sep 2018 3.26pm)

Did You know for the past 15 years, 4000 bankers in the city have taken home 1 million pound bonus or above at christmas? After the first year when they no doubt blew it on fast cars and boats, 12 months later it came again, so they just bought 4 flats for 250 grand each off plan, thats 16 thousand flats gone every christmas to bankers, times that by 15 years, you know why theirs no flats available for nurses to buy in central london or suburbs! Please provide a note of your source for this specific data, as I'd be interested to read the information in full. Thanks in anticipation.

That would explain it then, wireless i mean, yeah, we are expensive cryst but its the way they did it, illegally is the issue, thats why its in court this week, and a new taxi is 65k cash, or more on finance, thats so we can carry wheelchairs, and allowing any car to ply for hire as in uber for about a grand isn"t a level playing field, thats why black taxis are dying out, and believe it or not tfl issued around 13000 uber licences to drivers with fake details, covered it up for a year, and when its been exposed a few months ago they said, we have found 2000 of the 13000 and asked them to submit real details! Thats why theirs been lots of rapes and sexual assaults in london in the back of an uber/minicab in the past year, and thats down to the CONservatives watering down a 400 year old industry to make money, ( osborne. cameron, theresa mays husband all have shares in blackrock/uber) I'm a 100% behind the black cabs on this.

They are paying wages to employees which they know are too low to meet their needs, because they know the taxpayer will be forced to pay the rest. If they paid their workers what was adequate not even to live comfortably, but to not live in need of in work benefits, we could spend those hundreds of millions we are wasting on, say, public water fountains, keeping local libraries open or subsidising small businesses. As I say this is about efficiency, not communism. Edited by serial thriller (09 Sep 2018 3.00pm)
Also the (apparent) evidence is that having shop floor staff on boards (as has happened in germany for a decade or two) isnt always for the best and in a lot of cases prevents the board from making hard (but necessary) changes to structure in order to remain competitive.

Edited by Penge Eagle (26 Sep 2018 3.26pm) Look at what I was responding to. 1/3 of Mps ever have gone to a single university of the hundreds in this country. How can you argue there is any fairness in that? You are essentially arguing in favour of the status quo, even though you claim to not trust them when it comes to immigration. This status quo has brought us an annihilation of all social services. It has lead to the biggest wage deflation since the Napoelonic wars and even public workers like the police and the army are protesting at the lack of investment. The private companies who have taken their place have given us sh*t bins, sh*t schools and a sh*t security service. And sh*t trains while I'm at it. Keep banging your racist drum and claiming to speak for the people. But a lot of people see right through the BS that immigration is the reason this society's going down the drain. They see that the real issue, is capitalism.
