I wonder if modern day wearing of the burker
is more a show of solidarity towards being a Muslim rather than what's it's true purpose is. A bit like wearing your football colours.

And just like a pub banning the wearing of said colours, so asking for the removal of the burka in certain circumstances should be accepted.

I would go further and say it's a statement of defiance within the host culture.

Not defiance but fear.
They don't want 7 buckets beaten out of them by the men , that being anyone or more of..... grandad, dad , husband , brother, uncle, cousin, neighbour, friends of the aforementioned and old Tom cobbly as well.
If you asked them, and these women thought it was safe to answer honestly I reckon a majority would state that fear is the reason.

A YouGov poll has shown that around half of Brits want a burqa ban in public. While in Sky poll this week, 60% did not believe Boris was 'racist' to compare the appearance of women in burqas to "bank robbers" or "letterboxes".

It goes to show how out of touch with the people the mainstream media is and also the Tory party. What a shocker.

Do the media actually care what the people think as I get the impression that they would rather make the news rather than just report it

Watching the train wreck that is the Tories at the moment is laughable.

They appear to want to make Johnson grovel to the social justice brigade....

How anyone who is actually right wing can still support the Tory leadership is beyond me.....well, no it isn't actually.

The only people who genuinely support the Tories now are doing so out of pure self interest. Essentially they want to keep their sh1t and are terrified of Corbyn.

The ideological Tories have left this shower because it's only Tory in name only.

I don't think so, it's time for the old conservatives. I don't recognise this party to quote Mrs T "weak, weak, weak".

Time for the Tories to remember their core voters, who would think the Tories would be weak on crime, defence, foreign policy. A Tory party devoid of a post Brexit vision. I am fed up with Mrs May we need a leader that is not afraid to upset the snowflakes and stand up for this country.

But not Boris! Somebody with principles and integrity not someone who lashes his pony to any populist cause. If you want a Bexiteer, pick IDS.
