Nice research Matteo but I guess you can only really judge by watching them play several times. I wonder how many of your suggestions have been watched to judge how well they would fit into our setup.

If all these players are as good and easily available as you say Matteo, it does make you wonder what Freedman and co do with their time. Douggie found some real bargains when he was manager but seems to have lost his golden touch.

When he was manager, it was his choice and decision who to buy if SP agreed, but now he can only suggest, i guess SP and Roy would have the final say.

Situation so far, all transfers of Premier League teams:

Arsenal

Ins: Stephan Lichtsteiner (free, Juventus), Bernd Leno (£19.3m, Bayer Leverkusen), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (undisclosed, Borussia Dortmund), Lucas Torreira (£27m, Sampdoria), Matteo Guendouzi (young central midfielder, £7m, Lorient), Joel Campbell, Lucas Perez (end of loan)

Outs: Santi Cazorla (free), Per Mertesacker (retired, coaching role), Jack Wilshere (free, West Ham)

MY BELIEF: THEY’LL BE SIMILAR TO LAST YEAR. NEEDED FRESH LEGS IN MIDFILED, SO WILSHIRE REPLACED WITH TORREIRA IS NOT BAD. THERE IS TALK OF MORE PLAYERS WHO HAVE WORKED WITH EMERY COMING IN, LIKE NZONZI AND EVER BANEGA,BUT THEU WOULDN’T REALLY CHANGE MUCH. I DON’T KNOW IF UNAI EMERY WILL GIVE CHANCES TO JOEL CAMPBEL, AND LICAS PEREZ, BUT HE MIGHT, CAUSE THE SQUAD IS PRETTY TRIM (THAT ‘S WHY LAST YEAR TBEY RELIED A LOT ON MAITLAND NILES OR NELSON).

Bournemouth

Ins: David Brooks (young attacking midfielder, undisclosed, Sheffield United), Diego Rico (left back, £10.7m Leganes)

Outs: Max Gradel (undisclosed, Toulouse), Lewis Grabban (6m, Nottingham Forrest)
MY OPINION: NOTHING CHANGED MUCH. THERE WAS TALK OF JOSH KING BEING UNHAPPY PLAYING SECOND STRIKER AND WANTING TO MOVE TO NEWCASTLE,BUT NOTHING CAME OF IT. SAME 4 STRIKERS UP FRONT: CALLUM WILSON, JOSH KING, JERMAIN DEFOE AND YOUNG LYS MOUSSET. RYAN FRASER, JORDON IBE, STANISLAS AND NEWCOMER DAVID BROOKS WILL HELP. THEY SHOULD MANAGE TO STAY UP, THEY’RE A VERY FAST TEAM, SIMILAR TO PALACE..

Brighton

Ins: Leon Balogun (centre back, free, Mainz), Bernardo (right back, £9m, RB Leipzig), Florin Andone (£5m, Deportivo La Coruna), David Button (gk, 3.5m, Fulham), Yves Bissouma (defensive midfielder, undisclosed, Lille), Percy Tau (striker, 3m, Mamelodi Sundowns), Alireza Jahanbakhsh (17m, AZAlkmaar)

Outs: Tim Krul (free, Norwich), Liam Rosenior (released), Steve Sidwell (released), Connor Goldson (centre back, £3m, Rangers), Leonardo Ulloa (was on loan)

MY OPINION: DEFINITELY IMPROVEMENT. GOOD TRANSFERS AND THEY ALREADY HAD GOOD PLAYERS UP FRONT IN KNOCKAERT, IZQUIERDO, PASCAL GROSS AND GLENN MURRAY. THEY HAVE 4 STRIKERS NOW:MURRAY, ANDONE, PERCY TAU AND LOCADIA, SO IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE IF THEY’LL PLAY WITH 2 OF THEM AND MOVE GROSS TO THE SIDE. HE PLAYED A LITTLE ON THE RIGHT IN PRE-SEASON,BUT HE MADE A GREAT SEASON LAST YEAR BEHIND THE CENTRE FORWARD. NIGERIAN LEON BALOGUN WAS ALSO A STEAL AT CENTRE BACK COMING FREE OF CONTRACT!

Burnley

Ins:

Outs: Dean Marney (released), Scott Arfield (free, Rangers), N'Koudou (was on loan)

SQUAD IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME, ARFIELD AND N’KOUDOU DIDN’T PLAY MUCH. CHRIS WOOD AND ASHLEY BARNES ARE MAIN OFFENSIVE THREATS. ROBBIE BRADY IS STILL INJURED. THEY WILL DEFINITELY NOT HAVE THE SAME LUCK OF 1-0 WINS THEY HAD LAST YEAR. I THINK THAT WITH THEIR TROUBLE SCORING, THEY’LL BE ONE OF THE RELEGATION CANDIDATS. WBA HAD HAD A GREAT SEASON 2 YEARS AGO PLAYING DEFENSIVELY AND THEN THEY GOT RELEGATED THE NEXT SEASON, BURNLEY LOOKS TO ME THE SAME TYPE OF TEAM. DIFFICULT TO BEAT, BUT ALSO WINNING RARELY. A LOT OF DRAWS ONLY BRING 1 POINT EACH INSTEAD OF 3.

Cardiff

Ins: Josh Murphy (£11m, Norwich), Greg Cunningham (left back, £3.5m, Preston), Alex Smithies (gk, £3m, QPR), Bobby Reid (£10m, Bristol City)

Outs: Aron Gunnarsson (released), Frederic Guonongbe (released), Yanic Wildschut, Craig Bryson, Marko Grujic, Jamie Ward, Armand Traore (were on loan)

MY OPINION: JOSH MURPHY (TWIN BROTHER OF MURPHY FROM NEWCASTLE AND MAYBE ACTUALLY THE BETTER ONE) AND BOBBY REID WILL BRING SOME QUALITY UP FRONT,BUT ARE THEY READY FOR THE PREMIER LEAGUE? DEFINITELY THE WEAKEST OF THE 3 PROMOTED TEAMS, EVEN THOUGH THEY NARROWLY FINISHED ABOVE FULHAM. GRUJIC WAS THE MOST USED OF THE PLAYERS WHO WERE ON LOAN, BUT LIVERPOOL IS ASKING FOR A LOT OF MONEY. A CONTENDER FOR RELEGATION IN MY OPINION.

Chelsea

Ins: Jorginho (£53m, Napoli), Mitchy Batshuayi, Marco van Ginkel (end of loans)

Outs: Eduardo (released), Lewis Baker (loan, Leeds), Kenedy (loan, Newcastle), Jeremie Boga (undisclosed, Sassuolo)

MY OPINION: MAURIZIO SARRI MIGHT BRING IN MORE PLAYERS FROM ITALY, LIKE HIGUAIN, CALLEJON, MERTENS, RUGANI OR HYSAJ. BUT HE WILL PROBABLY ALSO LOSE HAZARD AND WILLIAN, SO THESE ARE HARD TO REPLACE. I’D SAY THEY WILL HAVE A TOUGH YEAR REBUILDING.

Crystal Palace

Ins: Vicente Guaita (gk, Getafe)

Outs: Yohan Cabaye (free, Al Nasr), Bakary Sako (released), Diego Cavalieri (released), Chung-Yong Lee (released), Damien Delaney (released), Julian Speroni (released), Jaroslaw Jach (loan, Rizespor), Jordon Mutch (loan, Vancouver), Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Erdal Rakip (were on loan)

MY OPINION: THE SQUAD IS WEAKER THAN LAST YEAR. EVEN IF 2-3 PLAYERS WILL COME, IT WILL BE HARD REPLACING CABAYE OR GETTING A SUB AS PROLIFIC AS BAKARY SAKO. KOUYATE IS RUMOURED, BUT HE’S MORE LIKE MILIVOJEVIC, NOT LIKE CABAYE. A STRIKER IS NEEDED LIKE AIR, RELYING JUST ON BENTEKE, YOUNG SORLOTH AND INJURY RAVAGED CONNOR WICKHAM IS MADNESS.

Everton

Ins: Richarlison (£35m, rising to £50m,Watford), Ademola Lookman, Sandro Ramirez, Kevin Mirallas (back from loan)

Outs: Joel Robles (released), Ramiro Funes Mori (undisclosed, Villarreal), Eliaquim Mangala (was on loan), Henry Onyekuru (loan to Galatasaray), Wayne Rooney (free, MLS)

MY OPINION: SQUAD IS PRETTY GOOD, THEY’VE INVESTED A LOT IN RECENT YEARS. 1 CENTRAL AND 1 LEFT DEFENDER WILL STILL COME IN, WITH TALK OF COLOMBIAN YERRY MINA AND LUCAS DIGNE FROM BARCELONA. SEAMUS COLEMAN IS BACK ON FIRE ON THE RIGHT, THEY HAVE STRIKERS LIKE CENK TOSUN, NIASSE, YOUNG CALVERT-LEWIN, OFFENSIVE PLAYERS LIKE THEO WALCOTG, SIGURDSSON, RICHARLISON, ADEMOLA LOOKMAN (IF HE’S GIVEN A CHANCE), I DEFINITELY SEE THEM IN THE TOP 8.

Fulham

Ins: Jean-Michael Seri (£35m, Nice), Fabri (£5m, Besiktas), Maxime le Marchand (centre back, 3.5m, Nice)

Outs: Ryan Fredericks (free, West Ham), Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sheyi Ojo, Lucas Piazon, Oliver Norwood, Tomas Kalas, Matt Targett ( were on loan)

MY OPINION: THEY LOST A LOT OF PLAYERS WHO WERE ON LOAN, ESPECIALLY TRIMMING THEIR BACK 4 NUMBERS, WITH FREDERICKS, KALAS, TARGETT LEAVING. THEY STILL NEED TO FILL THOSE POSITIONS BUT IF THE RUMOURS THAT THEY’RE CLOSE TO REACHING AN AGREEMENT FOR PERFECTLY INTEGRATED LAST YEAR STRIKER MITROVIC AND WITH SCHURRLE, THEY WILL BE A GOOD SQUAD. I SEE THEM STAYING IN THE PL,THEY HAD A GOOD CHAMPIONSHOP SIDE, THEY WERE UNLUCKY NOT TO FINISH SECOND.

Huddersfield Town

Ins: Ramadan Sobhi (undisclosed, Stoke), Juninho Bacuna (central midfielder, undisclosed, Groningen), Adama Diakhaby, striker, 9m, AS Monaco), Erik Durm (right back, free, Borussia Dortmund)

Outs: Robert Green (released), Dean Whitehead (Moving to coaching role), Tom Ince (£10m rising to £12m, Stoke)

MY OPINION: PRETTY WEAKK SQUAD, BUT WITH A FEW GOOD PLAYERS. STEVE MOUNIE, AARON MOOY AND ALEX PRITCHARD HAVE HAD A GOOD PREVIOUS SEASON. THEY WILL REPLACE TOM INCE WITH YOUNG FRENCHMAN FROM MONACO DIAKHABY IN THE FIRST 11 (THEY NEEDED A MORE CENTRAL SECOND STRIKER AND INCE WAS A WIDE MAN, COULD’T PLAY THERE), THAT’S PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY CHANGE. DURM WILL ALSO CHALLENGE AT RIGHT BACK. THEY WERE PRETTY LUCKY TO STAY UP LAST YEAR AND THEY SHOULD BE RELEGATION CONTENDERS THIS YEAR TOO.

Leicester City

Ins: Ricardo Pereira (right back, £17.5m, Porto), Jonny Evans (£3.5m, West Brom), James Maddison (£20m – rising to £24m, Norwich), Danny Ward (gk, £12.5m, Liverpool), Ahmed Musa, Nampalys Mendy, Bartosz Kaputska (end of loans)

Outs: Robert Huth (released), Riyad Mahrez (£60m, Manchester City), Aleksandar Dragovic (was on loan)

MY OPINION: IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO MOVE PAST THE MAHREZ ERA, BUT THEY STLL HAVE VARDY AND IF THEY GIVE MUSA A CHANCE, THEY SHOULD BE ALL RIGHT. THEY REFUSED A 12 MILLION OFFER FOR THE NIGERIAN, SO THEY MIGHT WANT TO KEEP HIM. THEY WERE LOOKING FOR A MORE OFFENSIVE RIGHT BACK THAN SIMPSON FOR A LONG TIME, SO THEY GOT PEREIRA.

Liverpool

Ins: Naby Keita (£52.75m, RB Leipzig), Fabinho (£43.7m, Monaco), Xherdan Shaqiri (£13.5m, Stoke), Alisson Becker (£66m, Roma), Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi ( were on loan)

Outs: Emre Can (free, Juventus), Jon Flanagan (free, Rangers), Harry Wilson (loan, Derby), Danny Ward (£12.5m, Leicester)

MY OPINION: BETTER SQUAD THAN LAST YEAR. NABY KEITA IS AN ADEQUATE REPLACEMENT FOR EMRE CAN. SHAQIRI AND ORIGI OFFER MORE OPTIONS UP FRONT FOR THE 3 GREAT PLAYERS. THEY’LL NEED SOMEONE TO REPLACE OX THOUGH. HE WAS A COUTINHO TYPE OF PLAYER, BUT FEKIR, WHOM THEY WANT TO BRING, HAS LITTLE TO NO DEFENSIVE OR BOX-TO-BOX DUTIES IN HIM. THEY NEED A LANZINI TYPE PLAYER, BUT HE’S ALSO INJURED FOR A LONG TIME.

Manchester City

Ins: Riyad Mahrez (£60m, Leicester City)

Outs: Yaya Toure (released), Pablo Maffeo (undisclosed, Stuttgart), Angelino (left back, 5m, PSV Eindhoven), Olarenwaju Kayode (striker, 2,7m, Shakhtar Donesk)

MY OPINION: THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND THEY’LL CONTINUE TO BE SO. MAHREZ CAN ONLY IMPROVE THE SQYAD, THEY HAVEN’T LOST ANYONE IMPORTANT. MASSIVE FAVOURITES TO WIN THE LEAGUE AGAIN.

Manchester United

Ins: Fred (£52.5m, Shakhtar Donetsk), Diogo Dalot (£19m, FC Porto), Lee Grant (gk, £1.5m, Stoke)

Outs: Michael Carrick (coaching role), Sam Johnstone (£6.5m, West Brom), Daley Blind (£14.1m, Ajax)

MY OPINION: MOURINHO’S STYLE WILL STILL CAUSE THEM TO PLAY DEFENSIVELY, SO I DON’T SEE THEM WINNING THE LEAGUE. THERE IS TALK THAT THEY COULD CHANGE POGBA WITH MILINKOVIC-SAVIC AND BRING IN ANOTHER WINGER, PROBABLY REBIC OR PERISIC IF NOT A BIG NAME LIKE BALE. BALE WOULD BE A REAL WIN, BUT THE OTHERS ARE NOT THAT MUCH BETTER THAN MARTIAL.

Newcastle United

Ins: Martin Dubravka (gk, undisclosed, Sparta Prague), Ki Sung-yeung (free, Swansea), Kenedy (loan, Chelsea), Fabian Schar (centre back, 3m, Deportivo la Coruna)

Outs: Jesus Gamez (released), Massadio Haidara (released), Jack Colback (loan, Nottingham Forest), Islam Slimani (was on loan), Chancel Mbemba (7m, Porto)

MY OPINION: THEY HAVE A GOOD SQUAD. A STRIKER WILL STILL COME IN, BUT THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY NAMES THAT I WOULDN’T KNOW WHO IT WILL BE. THEY WANT TO REPLACE MATT RITCHIE WITH TOWNSEND, BUT IT’S PROBABLY NOT GONNA HAPPEN. FIRST 11 WILL BE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME.

Southampton

Ins: Stuart Armstrong (£7m, Celtic), Mohamed Elyounoussi (£16m, Basel), Angus Gunn (gk, £10.75m, Man City), Yannick Vertergaard ( centre back, 22m, Moenchengladbach)

Outs: Jeremy Pied (released), Dusan Tadic (£17.6m, Ajax), Sofiane Boufal (loan, Celta Vigo), Guido Carrillo (on loan to Celta Vigo), Jordi Clasie ( loan to Feyenoord)

MY OPINION: BIG CHANGES. VESTERGAARD, ARMSTRONG AND ELYOUNOUSSI WILL BE STARTERS AND TADIC, THEIR BEST PLAYER IN THE PAST YEARS AND THE PLAYER WHO HAS KEPT THEM UP. ELYOUNOUSSI IS A GREAT TALENT, BUT I FEEL LIKE IT’S GOING TO BE A TOUGH YEAR FOR THEM INTEGRATING ALL THESE PLAYERS.

Tottenham

Ins:

Outs:

MY OPINION: TOTTENHAM HAVE NOT DONE MUCH TRANSFERS IN THE LAST YEARS AND THEY ARE GOING FOR A SQUAD WHICH HAS EXPERIENCE PLAYING TOGETHER. IT APPEARS NONE OF THE BIG NAMES ARE LEAVING. POCHETTINO SAID THAT A FEW TRANSFERS ARE ON THEIR WAY, SO I EXPECT WE’LL BE SEEING JACK GREALISH AND WILMAR BARRIOS. THEY WANT ANOTHER BACKUP STRIKER FOR KANE INSTEAD OF LLORENTE AND VINCENT JANSSEN.

Watford

Ins: Gerard Deulofeu (£11.47m, Barcelona), Marc Navarro (undisclosed, Espanyol), Adam Masina (left back, undisclosed, Bologna), Ken Sema (Swedish winger, undisclosed, Ostersund), Ben Foster (undisclosed, West Brom), Adalberto Penaranda, Isaac Success, Obbi Oulare (back from loans)

Outs: Costel Pantilimon (gk, undisclosed, Nottingham Forest), Richarlison (£35m, rising to £50m, Everton), Andre Carrillo, Didier Ndong (were on loan)

MY OPINION: THEY LOST 2 GOOD WINGERS IN RICHARLISON AND CARRILLO. KEN SEMA IS NOT AT THEIR LEVEL. DEULOFEU WILL DO WELL IF HE STAYS FIT AND PLAYS MORE. THEY HAVE MANY GOOD YOUNG PLAYERS LIKE OULARE, BUT THEY NEED DEVELOPING. ANDRE GRAY WILL BE A GOOD PL STRIKER, BUT TROY DEENEY NOT SO MUCH, HE’S GETTING ALL THE MORE OLDER AND FATTER. MASINA IS NOT THAT GOOD AS A LEFT BACK. VERY TALL AND A GREAT PROMISE 2 YEARS, I’D SAY HE HASN’T CAPITALIZED ON THAT AT BOLOGNA.

West Ham

Ins: Ryan Fredericks (free, Fulham), Issa Diop (£22m, Toulouse), Lukasz Fabianski (undisclosed, Swansea City), Jack Wilshere (free, Arsenal), Andriy Yarmolenko (£17m, Borussia Dortmund) ,Fabian Balbuena (centre back, undisclosed, Corinthians), Felipe Anderson (£35m rising to £42m, Lazio)

Outs: James Collins (released), Patrice Evra (released), Joe Hart, Joao Marion (were on loan)

MY OPINION: THE LOSS OF LANZINI TO INJURY IS A HUGE BLOW AND IF MICHAIL ANTONIO WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE, THOSE WILL BE 2 BLOWS IN NEED OF REPLACING. BUT FELIPE ANDRESON IS A RIGHT PLAYER TO DO THAT IF YOU WANT TO REPLACE SOMEONE! I COULDN’T SAY ABOUT YARMOLENKO, HE WAS VERY SLOW WHEN I SAW HIM AT EURO 2016, SO I DON’T KNOW IF HE’LL BE A GOOD FIT FOR THE PL, A FAST LEAGUE. BUT HE IS A PLAYER WHO CAN PROVIDE ASSISTS AND GOALS. MAHREZ DIDN’T SEEM VERY FAST WHEN HE FIRST CAME AND HE ROCKED THE PL. YARMOLENKO PLAYS EXACTLY THE SAME INVERTED WINGER POSITION. I SEE WEST HAM PRETTY SAFE FROM RELEGATION, BUT NOT VERY HIGH EITHER.

Wolves

Ins: Benik Afobe (£12m, Bournemouth), Raul Jimenez (loan, Benfica), Rui Patricio (free, Sporting Lisbon), Joao Moutinho (£5m, Monaco), Jonny Castro (fullback, on loan, Celta Vigo)

Outs: Benik Afobe (six-month loan, Stoke, then 13.5m), Roderick Miranda (loan, Olympiakos), Alfred N'diaye (was on loan)

MY OPINION: A GOOD ENOUGH SQUAD FOR THE PL. THEY ALREADY HAD GOOD PLAYERS LIKE IVAN CAVALEIRO, HELDER COSTA, DIEGO JOTA OR LEO BONATINI. RAUL JIMENEZ IS A REALLY GOOD, HARD-WORKING STRIKER. I DON’T KNOW ABOUT JOAO MOUTINHO, I DON’T THINK HE CAN KEEP UP THE PL PACE ANYMORE.

Matteo I will apologize in advance, but the mischievous side of me could not resist. But out of interest I copied and pasted your post and did a word count.

15,099 words!

Make of that what you will folks.

Matteo can't fault your effort but maybe consider information overload. Most people will fade out and lose concentration in such a long post. Even those, like me, who as you know am very interested in the ins and outs of transfer windows. There is a reason media outlets look at trying to cram maximum info into bite sized chunks these days.

Just a slight update: Hernani from Porto, amazing winger option, available for very cheap. Porto rejected an offer of 1 million for 80% of the player's rights. But the fee will definitely be small.

This guy has been the best winger for Olympiakos in Greece and for Vitoria Setubal in Portugal. Porto took him but they're just not using him and he wants to leave to get playing time. Such a loss for Porto, I can't imagine why he's only 4th choice behind Brahimi, Jesus Corona and Otavio on the wings. I mean, I like all of them and they're all worth more than 20 million, but Hernani is right up there at their value. For 1-2 million, he'd be an amazing deal.

[Link]

And...Abel Hernandez has failed a medical with CSKA Moscow. Free agent and pretty solid in the PL and the Championship, thought he was past his problems. Supposedly it could still go through tough, with additional testing:

[Link]

His agreement with CSKA was for around 50k a week, not that much money for a decent striker like him. He'd keep a team like Palace up in the PL if he had the right service.

Jordan Ayew is pretty poor though. Maybe hard working, but overall a bad finisher. And those 2 defensive midfielders...

Just continuing the original post:

Players in Germany:
You can't get any from Bayern and those from Borussia would be pretty costly, but I did signal out that Stuttgart got Gonzalo Castro for just 3-4 million and Toljan could be available for cheap too. Schurrle should cost aroubd 10-15, so not a lot for a player of his calibre, but still a lot of money for a club like Palace. They got new sensation Marius Wolf for just 5 million, so that's one to keep an eye on, cause if he won'tget playing time in Dortmund, he might come to a team like Palace. They value Jadon Sancho a lot, you can't touch him Reus, Kagawa or Maxi Philipp.

Schalke has the most promising player in Germany's youth system on sale, Donis Avdijaj. Other than him, Ukraine's Konoplyanka is a good player and suitable for Engliah football and might be available for just around 10 million.

Hoffenheim lost their best player, Gnabry, who is going to Bayern (what a loss for Arsenal!!)+Mark Uth, but they brought Vincenzo Grifo and Bettancourt relatively cheap.

Bayer Leverkusen missed out on the Champions League so now would be a good time to "sack" them. Aranguiz would be a good buy, but he's like 28-29 and would cost more than 5 million, maybe even 10. They value winger Leon Bailey at about 100 million, so that's a no Bellarabai's value has dropped lately. I think they'd sell for 10 million, but I'm not sure if he's worth it.

RB Leipzig have Massimo Bruno on sale, but he hasn't featured much for them, instead being on loan at Anderlecht. He is pretty hard working and a decent winger for his age and they'd probably sell for 1-2 million, as he will be a free agent this time next year. Couldn't touch the other starters at Leipzig.

Frankfurt has a great squad and I talked about their players in the original post. I knew about Croatia's Rebic's potential since years ago and he could have been brought very cheap as a youngster from Fiorentina. Now, after a magical World Cup, he's wanted by allbig clubs. He's exactly like Perisic, well bulit, strong and fast, but much younger. Serbian Luka Jovic is great for a 20 year old centre forward, but they'll pay Benfica's release clause of about 10 million and they'll be looking to sell him for much more. Stendera will be allowed to leave, but I can't see him making it in the Premier League.

Stuttgart had Carlos Mane from Sporting on loan. He was very good in their promotion but broke his leg last year. Now he's on pre-season training with Sporting, but nobody is going to pay them their 10 million evaluation of him. They will surely allow him to leave on loan again and at the end of next year you could try reducing his price to 5 million. But you'd have to be patient with him and help him come back easily. Didavi was a free transfer for Stuttgart, he could have been someone for Palace to look into.

Moenchengladbach sold Italian Grifo for cheap. Hermann could also be around the 5 million mark, great player 3-4 years ago, but I'm not sure he can replicate that form. Raffael is too old, Thorgan Hazard is expensive, national team player Stindl as well, they got Frenchman Alassane Plea for 25 million.

Hertha's Ibisevic and Kalou are too old, Leckie is not that good, Selke would cost a fortune.

Werder Bremen's Kainz, Max Kruse are not for sale. And even if Kruse finishes his contract next year, he's going to be 31. Otherwise, I'd have him in an instant, his goal rate and work rate are great. Yuya Osako cost them 4 million at 28, a good sum for the energy and goals he will bring.

Augsburg had 2 great forwards last year, Austrian Gregoritsch and Iceland's Finbogasson, but both have long contracts. Caiuby is too old. Stay away from Ji Dong Won. Andre Hahn and Frenchie Schmidt are decent, if not actually good, cheap options, but they're already 28.

Hannover has a Brazilian centre forward, Jonathas, very strong, who is available to leave on loan, but they want too much money for a 29 year old on whom they spent 8 million. Fullkrug had a great last season, they want like 20 million for him, out of Palace's reach. Togolese Bebou is still improving, they paid a lot of money for a really bad player like Haraguchi, who seemed to me one of the worst wingers in the Bundesliga.

Mainz has some interesting players in Muto, with his contract ending soon, Oztunali should be watcged from now on, a great German hope, even Muto. Unfortunitely, Maxim had quality, but could not adapt in English football. Even Ujah is interesting. De Blasis would have been great had he not been that old. I forgot about EMIL BERGGREEN in my original post, a good Danish centre forward, 1,94 cm, 25 years old, whom they'd sell for only 2-3 million, as he's not a definite starter and his contract runs out next summer. They got him for 3,5 million.Viktor Fischer, the Danish winger who is such a big hope, left Mainz for a small fee last season and is doing great at FC Copenhagen. Sure, lower level, but he did ok when he went on in top leagues too.

Wolfsburg had a lot of good players last year, even though the team played bad. Osimhen and Dimata were too you g centre forwards though, Renato Steffen needs some time to integrate, Malli is good but nothing special, Didavi was wonderful but went to Stuttgart, Origi was just on loan.

Freiburg's striker Nils Petersen is an old favourite of mine, but age does not forgive anyone and he wouldn't be as cheap now after the good season as he would have been when I suggested him 2 years ago. They have a great player in Ravet, but he needs to stay injury free.

From the relegated teams, I've talked in the original post about the good, not very expensive now, players.

In Italy:
You can't really get players from Juventus, Napoli, Inter, AC Milan or Roma unless you pay exorbitant prices.

But Lazio could sell some players this summer (though not cheap). Immobile is worth 60 million, Luis Alberto is worth more than 20, Felipe Anderson left for West Ham for a massive 35 million. But Nani left for free back to Valencia, which didn't keep him and let him go back to Sporting Club of Portugal. He would have been a catch and Imthink he was dying for an English club to give him another shot in this league!

Atalanta has Papu Gomez, but at 30 he's past it. And expensive, Lazio wants him to replace Felipe Anderson. The also have Ioicic, but he's a bit too slow. Petagna is not a bad striker, but with a low goal rate. They bought Duvan Zapata for like 20 million and let Petagna go to SPAL for playing time. Freuler is a great central attacking midfielder, but they want 15 million for him.

Fiorentina has expensive players like Diego Simeone's son and youngster Chiesa. EYSSERIC might be a good shout as he was bought for 3 million and might he allowed to leave. Pretty good winger at Nice.

Torino still has the 2 years ago goalscorer Bellotti, they don't want to let him go for less than 50 million. They did pay 12 million for Mbaye Niang, whom Milan fans now regret. Iago Falque and Adam Ljajic have been great as wingers for an offensive AC Torino, but they'd each be worth at least 10 million. But a good price at their age in my opinion for what they can do. Youngster Berenguer is also great for his age.

Sampdoria had 35 year old beast Quagliarela as starter. Colombian Duvan Zapata has gone to Atalanta. Caprari is valued at a lot, same for Gaston Ramirez (who did not adapt to English football when he was here).

Sasuuolo's big names Berardi and Politano are expensive. They bought Papace linked Khouma Babqcqr in the winter and now want to sell him, probably unhappy with his attitude and work rate. He's got goals and assists, he is still young, but the attitude is a problem...

Other teams have Lasagna, de Paul, costing around 20 million, Bologna's Verdi is even more expensive, Stepinski from Chievo would have been a great option in my opinion. Diabate from Benevento is probably too old by now, but could be worth a look as he'd cost no more than 1 million.

HELLS BELLS, you could turn this into a film script,
