From my recollection, Roy made him a pretty central part of his England team. Indeed, was it three man of the match perfofrmaces in a row? Something like that

£5m signing on fee is peanuts. What’s the wages he wants? Edited by Goldfiinger (07 Jun 2018 5.37pm)

Yearly figures based on £130k and £65k weekly wage respectively. If we can have some form of protection against a lengthy injury then it actually doesn’t look that expensive.... actually looks cheap if you considering Leicester wanted Livermore a little while back for £25m or something... If he stays fit potentially a great buy. IF!

If he does sign, I can’t see us going for both. Either way if we did get Wiltshire I recon Benteke will be offloaded to free up wages. Question then is who do we go for up front...

I can see your point - but all depends on what other genuine options he has.Surely any club will insist on some form of protection with him. No way he was on 120-130k at Arsenal. Taking a few players off the wage bill - Mutch, Lee, Delaney etc - would pay for a sizeable chunk of his wages so i reckon it's very much affordable. If Roy wants him & he wants to come I'd welcome the deal. For all of his injury concerns - which must be taken into consideration by our medical team, of course - he actually played 9 games more than Wilf did last season.
