Just don’t let it weigh me down and ruin my life like you seem to. If you want to spend your life bitching and moaning about your perceived lot and the ills of society then that’s up to you. Good luck to you. So this man's action that I have criticised I actually support? Great logic there. I'm a critic of the ideas within Islam but I don't support defacing religious buildings or any other building owned by someone other than yourself. I have made that clear. I've stated that I believed that a consequence was required, like community service. You on the other hand said you had no sympathy for this man who has lost his life after being sent to jail. I find your contention that a person must censor themselves because of the fear of an unfair consequence morally distasteful But not as distasteful as I find your stated lack of sympathy you have for what happened to him.....death, by natural causes or foul. The way you destroy the bad ideas is with better ones. Screaming names like bigot, racist, homophobe, xenophobe to a person you disagree with throws out the possibility of engaging in important dialogue that should be had. It is counterproductive to the individual and society as a whole to shelter ourselves and allow emotion to reign over facts. That is not how we evolve. So, instead of whining and playing the victim as so many on here do it’s time to start thinking. I'm rationing my HOL time these days so apologies for quoting from a few days ago. Just wanted to say that, socialist as I am, this is a top post.

Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2018 8.45am) At the same time, don’t get so upset about this death of a man you know nothing about. There’s plenty of deaths within the penal system that you won’t know details on or even hear about. I very much doubt you’d care if it didn’t have a back story involving Islam.

I'm certainly quite heavily interested in free speech, secularism and I'm critical of Islamic ideas. And I'm bothered by how our state reacts to all three. Hence this death sparked my attention, particularly as the prison institution appear to have given very limited details and the media have largely ignored it. There is nothing insidious about being concerned about a death that centres around issues you take an interest in. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2018 10.49am)

I don't have sympathy for people trying to spread and act on hate. If he’s died as a direct consequence of his actions then hopefully others will learn from it. We have no evidence to suggest he has died as a consequence though. There’s a fair bit of assumption being used to perhaps suggest that there is a correlation.

Do you have sympathy for me? If I was foolish enough to shout eagles to one of their fans and they killed me because it was offensive, should I have deserved the outcome? It's death by direct consequence. I know you'll understand because you share my hatred of them. Any sympathy yet,? Or is that fair game as well. Your comments about hating Brighton and Man u, plus the f#ck you bit after, gets seen by a Brighton or Man u troll on here. They somehow find where you are and kill you because of what you wrote. I'd have sympathy for you, but would you have sympathy for yourself?

Shouting cows are just dumb animals Should I be arrested for a hate crime. Absolutely no crime there in my opinion, however a closer correlation to this case would surely be if you led the cow into the Hindu temple and slaughtered it, in which case I could very much see it as a hate crime (as there's no reason at all to do it apart from to antogonise and/or distress a group of people based on their religion). I love a bit of bacon myself, but the whole purpose of putting bacon on the door of a mosque is to upset people - it's dickish if nothing else!

Surely, if you slaughter the cow that demonstrates a hate crime towards the cow. Then you'll have PETA looking for you not the Hindus

Well, that's April been and gone, still no word from this inquest. This inquest was launched in January 2017 for this bloke who died December 27 2016.
