Lads, this has mostly been a really interesting discussion catching up on since I left the office without it getting petty. Let’s not go digging at each other here too.

Whether or not something creates backlash and 'should' be challenged doesn't divorce it as a known negative of a course of action. You denied that it was connected.....Wooosh....that was your objectivity sprinting over the hill old boy. As for your description of yourself....how can I put this politely....I don't believe you. But I might be wrong...and fundamentally on the arguments it doesn't matter anyway. You can have the last word....I have some ham slices to finish up. Thanks. I appreciate it. I’ve certainly not been objective when it comes to you, that’s fair. But I have been when it comes to the crux of the debate. The simple fact is every claim I’ve made has at least been based on something. Yours is based on (happy to be proven wrong) nothing. So I’m not sure how you expect me to take you seriously. It’s like entering a knife fight without a knife. Also your inability to argue the point in hand is spectacularly exposed by the slow slide into accusation of personal agenda and ‘you would say that you’re gay’ territory. Hardly a good way to construct an argument. Also agin I’m yet to hear anything that will make me disregard what I’ve already read around the subject. Again, I am fully prepared to change my stance. Because I always follow the evidence. Like any rational being. For the record (it’s not relevant but I felt I had to mention it because of the road you were going down) I am not gay. But of course, in this scenario, it’s not even relevant! Enjoy the ham. It’s been objective. Well, from my side anyway.

I accept scientific consensus that still persists after it has had a sufficient amount of time to undergo proper peer review and research.....So really years of standing up to being probed and poked. I completely accept that scientific results can and are often found to later be wrong....there are papers on that itself. The excellent Veritasium did a video on it. Also it is a fact that there are political and financial pressures....yes these sully even scientists....There are incentives to push agendas and use selective science....that's one of the reasons I prefer lots of review and pull and push before accepting....what is often pushed as fact by the media and government. Personally I accept that there is climate change....the data exists over a long time frame. What the extent is....We have already seen many projections to have been in error...projections that many were happy to echo.....but this doesn't alter the fact that climate change is happening. For me, the most important question is what is done about it. I regard the suggestions made by many that people just use less energy in their daily lives as as....frankly imbecilic......Lets also ask for there never to be any peados....it's that dim. If there is to be a solution...or solutions it will come in the form of technology advancements that can be easily adapted to people's lives. If not, it's sea barriers/underground cities....or whatever works as a workaround. Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Feb 2018 11.37am)

Anyone who thinks there is currently a textbook somewhere which covers the inner workings of the mind like it's a car engine is deluded. We are scratching the surface.
